 Founder of modern educational philosophy.
 He was born in 1632 in Wrighton, Somerset.
 His father was a lawyer and small land owner.
 John Locke’s closest female friend was the
philosopher Lady Damaris Cudworth Masham.
 He went to West Minister School.
 He studied medicine at Oxford University.
His Theory
 His theory was called The Blank Slate theory.
 The Blank Slate theory says that thoughts are
formed first through exposure to different
sensations followed by reflection on experiences.
 Simple things such as shapes are gathered
passively, while things complicated like cause and
effect are actively built.
