Preliminary Equilibrium GUI Help Document • Common EFIT runs — set up working directory you can type in the directory name directly or click the ‘Select’ button to choose. — choose Tokamak type currently only DIII-D is supported — select EFIT grid size 65x65, 129x129, 257x257 or 513x513. When grid size is chosen, the corresponding EFIT executable in /link/efit area will be used. You can also click ‘Specify’ button to specify your own EFIT executable path. — choose EFIT mode you can choose EFIT mode 2, 3, 5 or 7 ASIPP Preliminary Equilibrium GUI Help Document • Common EFIT runs — set up input parameters Input file is needed for mode 2; For mode 3, 5 and 7, shot number and time slices are needed. Also you can click ‘TimePicker’ button, which currently only runs on hestia, eos, lohan4 and lohan5 due to library dependence, to choose the shot number and time slice you are interested in. Default value of time step and number of time slices are both set to 1. For mode 7, snap file name extension is needed. For mode 3, 5 and 7, if input file input entry is left empty, EFIT will try to find the snap file in your working directory. Otherwise, the snap file in /link/efit area will be used. You can also fetch the snap file from MDS+ by clicking the ‘Fetch’ button. Click ‘Edit’ button to view and edit the input file. If check button ‘MPI’ is checked, you will be prompted to set up the number of CPU and the machine name file and run MPI EFIT. If ‘SGE’ checked, your job will be submitted using qsub. Click ‘Generate’ button and it will generate an IMFIT task flow file with the name imfit.conf_USERNAME. You can click ‘Check’ button to check out the running status. When EFIT is done, click ‘View Results’ which spawns efitviewer. Default working directory for profile fitting is set to be the same as your working directory, under where there should have gfile. You can also choose a different one by clicking the ‘Select’ button. Just make sure you have the gfile already under the directory you choose. — Click ‘GAPROFILE’ to spawn the gaprofiles for data fitting. Or you can click ‘MDS+ Fetching’ button to fetch the inone file from AUTOONETWO tree. ASIPP Preliminary Equilibrium GUI Help Document • Step-by-step Kinetic EFIT run — Click ‘ONETWO RUN’ checkbutton to activate the area for onetwo run Default working directory is set to your working directory+/onetwo, which also can be changed. — Click ‘ONETWO’ button to bring up TRANSPORT GUI with corresponding g-file and inone file set up properly. — Click ‘Make Kinetic Kfile’ checkbutton to activate the area for generating new Kfile. Default working directories for EFIT kfile and ONETWO qikone file are set up correspondingly, which you can select if you like. The default working directory for new generated Kfile is set to your working directory+/k1. — Click ‘OK’ button to generate new Kfile In your main window, the working directory is set to the directory where new Kfile is located and the EFIT mode is set to 2 with the input file set to the new Kfile. Click ‘Execute’ button and wait till it finishes.
