Six Reidsville Teams competing in All-Stars The Reidsville Parks and Recreation has a total of six All-Star baseball and softball teams that are competing in District and State Dixie Tournaments. Coach Pitch All Stars: The 7- to 8-year-old coach pitch all-star team won the district tournament held in Bethany on June 19th-21st. They went undefeated throughout the tournament and by doing so qualified for the State Tournament that will be held in Pembroke, NC starting on July 4th. Team Members: Colby Cooper, Weston Thomas, Carson Robertson, Kendre’ Harrison, Jace Lovelace, Bryson Apple, Dakota Petty, Parker Strader, Grady Barrett, Deago Mata, Nathan Revis, Gavin Washburn, Dionte Neal. Coaches: Jon Revis, Scott Strader, Tim Washburn, Josh Thomas UPDATE: Congratulations to the Reidsville Coach Pitch All Stars who placed fifth in the State Tournament over the July 4th weekend. Reidsville beat Lumberton 15-5 and Leland 15-5 on Saturday. On Sunday, the local team lost to West Stanley 9-5 and was ousted from the tourney with a second loss, this time to East Dublin 8-7 on Monday. We are very proud of this young team and wish these players continued success in the future! Minor League All Stars: The 9- to 10-year-old minor league all-star team will be competing in the district tournament this weekend at the Eden Boys & Girls Club June 26th-29th. Minor League Team Members, in no particular order, Drew Hazelwood, Matthew Davenport, Jonathan Dyson, Nathan Gardner, Israel Zarate, Justin Lovelace, Philip Layne, Conner French, Mason Lynch, Ayden Johnson, Nathan Warner, Chase Heintzelman. Coaches are Jeff Lynch, Bobby Warner and Mark Johnson. If they finish in first place, they will qualify for the State tournament that will be held in Lillington NC on July 11th-18th. Major League All Stars: The 11- to 12-year-old major league all-star team is competing in their District Tournament in Eden at Freedom Park. They will play in the Championship on Thursday, June 25th at 6:00 p.m. If they win, they will qualify for the State tournament that will also be at Freedom Park on July 17th-23rd. Major League Team Members, in no particular order, Hunter McCollum, Noah Pruitt, Nolan Lawrence, Breon Pass, Luke Hazelwood, Owen Robertson, Ramon Carter, Chace Young, Mason Tucker, Aaron Hill, Dylan Apple, Andrew Layne. Coaches: Curtis Pass, Jason Pruitt and Jason Lawrence Girls’ Rec Softball The Angels, Ponytails, and Belles girls’softball league teams are also playing in the post-season. Angels All –Stars: The 9- to 10-year-olds will be playing in the State Tournament in Troy, NC from July 10th to July 15th.
