It’s a Falcon Thing
Doing it the Falcon Way
Lets say its me and you are playing
the same position, & I’m the older guy and
you’ve got talent. I’m going to teach you
what I know to try & beat me out. I want
you to take my spot, because if you take it,
we will be a better team. If not, when I
leave, you’ll be smart enough to get it done.
That’s what “A Falcon Thing” means. No
matter what, We the best players on the field.

Falcon PRIDE
=
The RED STAR: These can be earned by performing
acts on the football field that are conducive with
winning. The criteria for these pride stickers are
located in your player guide and on our goal boards.

The Black STAR: These can be earned by performing
positive acts in the community and classroom.
Teachers, parents and community members can
notify the coaching staff if you earned a black star.

Practice Notes
Practice Tempo
1.Live: Full go all out tackle just as in a real game. While keeping
in mind these our your teammates and we traditionally do not
possess overwhelming numbers.
2.Thud: Full physical football with wrapping up just not taking all
the way to the ground. The play ends on the whistle w/the wrap
up. The L..O.S. should be just like a game.
3.Tap: Follow proper tackling technique w/form and position.
Take a good angle and mock follow throw. To not wrap up,
impede or make contact with offensive player.
4.Turnover: The play does not end tell the ball is turned over.
5.Every ball live: Every ball that touches the ground is a live
fumble for the defense. Every drop and every incomplete is
treated like a fumble. Get it in the outside hand and go near
sideline on a SCOOP AND SCORE!
6.Note: After any knock down or big hit always offer to PICK
THAT PLAYER UP no matter the situation!!! The FALCON WAY!
Practice Gear
1.Shimmy: Team issued shorts and Practice Jersey. Desired
under gear are team or bland colors. (Red, White, Blue & Gray)
2.Helmets: Helmets.
3.Shells: Helmets and shoulder pads.
4.Full: Every issued pad including Hip, Thigh, Tail & Knee.

Team Discipline
Theory of Discipline
Discipline is having a controlled obtained manner by enforcing oneself to comply and be orderly.
This means having rules for oneself and following team rules.
Conduct/Communication with Coaches
Each player will refer to each coach as either Coach, Mr. or Sir. Failure to comply with this rule
will result in a REMINDER.
Being on Time and Attendance
Every player will show up to every meeting, training, game, practice and football function on what
we call “championship time.” This means that you will be there 10 Minutes prior to the time that
is posted and required. Failure to comply will result in a REMINDER. Communication with
coaches is always appreciated and can be used as an exemption for missing or being late.
Good reasons in this order are religion and family. However failure to communicate will result in
a REMINDER.
Game/Practice Dress Code
We are a team and a team walks, talks and looks alike. You will not be an individual on our
team. The only thing that shall set you apart as an individual is your jersey number and the
productivity of your play on the field. If a shirt or compression shirt is desired under the jersey, it
must be the designated colors. No arm bands, head bands, due rags or jewelry of any kind
during games or practice. If you want to have an arm band then every single member of the
team better have that exact same arm band. Again the only thing that will set you apart as an
individual is your play on the field and your number. If there is a violation of this dress code then
we will have a REMINDER.
Game Travel
All players are to look the same and to have a business atmosphere. No hats or any head gear
of any kind is permitted on the bus. Failure to comply will result in a REMINDER.
Game Bench Behavior
Helmets will be worn by all players unless receiving medical attention. Players will not be talking
with or gesturing towards fans. After each series, players are to immediately meet as a unit with
the field coordinator. Failure to comply will result in a REMINDER.
Facebook/Twitter
We live in an era where there is social media. Everyone is one cell phone picture, facebook
post or tweet away from downfall. Let it be understood that anything one posts on facebook or
tweets on twitter is the same as standing up in a room and yelling it. If you are not willing to say
it there DO NOT say it on line. It still travels and perhaps even more so online. Failure to comply
will result in a REMINDER or Separation.
Be a good person… Respect others, respect your team, respect your12
coaches and respect yourself.
Team Discipline
Conduct with Opponents
Show respect for your opponents at all times. Show it during, before and after the game. No
taunting, jarring or fighting with your opponents. Play with the mentality knock them down and
pick them back up.
Locker Room Rules
Each player will be responsible for keeping their locker and the area in front of their locker
clean. Treat the locker room like your home by showing it respect and always keeping it clean.
Failure to comply will result in a REMINDER.
School, Academics and GPA
Academics are the main reason that you are here and football comes second. Remember the
term student-athlete, the word student comes 1st for a reason. If a player does not want to be
a student they shall not be an athlete. Failure to attend class and perform at an adequate
academic level will result in the loss of playing time. There will also be a REMINDER.
No Swearing
Not for practice, games or football functions. Failure to comply will result in a REMINDER.
Lifting/Training
Lifting/Training is considered a part of practice. If you are JV or Varsity you will still make your
designated lift. Failure to attend and be on time to lifting will result in a REMINDER. Failure to
attend 3 lifting session without communication will result in Separation.
Conduct with Officials
No player at any time is allowed to talk with any official with the exception of the captain. This
communication is reserved only for the coaches and the captain(s). Don’t complain about calls,
once its done its done. Failure scapegoats are as old as humanity. Don’t let them be a part of
us. If any player decides to break this rule they will be subject to a REMINDER.
Negative Chemicals
This is very simple; no player shall use, purchase, be around or even think about negative
chemicals. This is any type of illegal drugs or alcohol. This violation will result in punishment
according to the MSHSL rules, removal of captain status and loss of post season accolades.
Of course this will also include a significant REMINDER or Separation.
Personal Conduct Violation
This is a rule designed to control your personal character and your decision making in life. This
rule states that anything you are willing to do you should be willing to do directly in front of your
grandmother. If you are not willing to perform this action right in front your grandmother than
simply do not do it at all. Failure to comply will result in a REMINDER or Separation.
“In addition to the rules and policies of the Falcon Football program, all players must
adhere to the rules and guidelines of the District 811 and the MSHSL.”
