Almost 90% of people came from Steamboat. Brandon McCramm south of Colorado Springs is diverting food waste in Ft. Collins and working with us to measure food waste locally. 4. Green Building/Energy – Green building tour sold out, diversity among homes/buildings visited; Green building training being planned; Grant from Energy Outreach Colorado to give energy efficiency retrofits to low-income single-home families up to $3,000; goal is to reduce LEAP numbers with this program; Colorado Energy Office outreach program to address home energy scores to help people know what the “miles per gallon” for their home is before it is bought; looking for energy auditor; Censible Energy numbers: 82 rebates $18,506 spent locally Estimated 180 over 3 years – already passed 5. Sustainable Schools – two new programs: helped Elementary schools write grant to YVEA and purchase re-usable zero waste party packs; starting take charge challenge working with green teams who are going to do behavior based energy audits; Dec.- March 6. ReTree Steamboat – Last first Friday at the Depot, Keri Searle workshop for kids on recycled materials Nov 19 V. Partner Updates 1. Community Ag Alliance – Nov. 4 @ 6pm annual meeting at Moon Hill School House; Nov 14 Hometown Holiday Market at Library 9-3pm and The Great Divide showing at Chief Theatre 6:15pm with Q&A to follow (register); Nov 23 “Be Thankful for Ag” discuss challenges faced by vendors and how to help 2. CSU Extension – County director being decided; extension office home energy audit kit available; Master Gardener program offered again in 2016; Enviro. Coalition allocating $45,000 to 4 organizations 3. County Commissioner– county budget finished; CNG/hybrid trucks at refueling at 1.5 gal/hr., works inside, county trying one out 4. CMC – Food Club community dinner on Nov 10 Tuesday at 5:30 to thank organizations, $9.50 all you can eat; Dec 12 students with Sustainability joining Amnesty at High 5 with DJ and Bluegrass band, water as a human right (Amnesty) and Colorado water plan themes; Attended conference on sustainability in higher education, student movement to get students to comment on implementation on clean power plan to give students a voice (The Power Dialogue); April 21-22 Sustainability Conference 5. City – STAR bench marking program data almost finished; Nov 17 presenting at City Council and score will be released Dec./Jan. VI. Open Forum 1. Twin Enviro. – articles with photos released on MERF (??) 2. Bill Wallace – Money available to deal with climate change; Rockefeller and Ordan family foundation to help with variety of projects; Ordan family foundation has webinars on resilience VII.
