our investigation into a
community on the planet
Mars. (But of course that is
the planet we needed to
study… it has a great
name)

The Olympics Overview

Interested in Technology?
Michael Phelps: He is currently the
most decorated Olympian of all time
for the U.S. He broke all records by
currently having a total of 28
medals. He was born in Towson,
Md. (Go Orioles!!!) He currently has
a child named Boomer Robert
Phelps. This was supposedly his
last Olympics.
Whole U.S. Swim Team: Both U.S.
swim teams did amazing at the
Olympics this year. The U.S.
women has won the 4x100 race, by
winning gold. The men’s Olympic
team then also won the gold for the
men’s 4x100 relay. In addition, the
total medal wins for swimming was
33 total medals. 16 of which were
gold.
New Olympic Sports: The Olympic
Committee (OC) announced that
there are going to be 26 new
sports. The most popular new
sports are baseball, softball; karate,
bowling, and American football are
just some. Many people will be
pleased by this.

Olympic Medals: This year the U.S.
team won the Olympics. With 121
they won against the closest team by
51. Almost half as much as the
country with the next most medals.
This is also more medals than most
countries won. For example, in
Swimming we won 33 medals, Track
and Field 32 medals, and Gymnastics
12 medals.
U.S. Gymnastics Team: This year the
U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team did
amazing. They won 12 total medals.
Out of 12 medals 4 were gold and 6
were silver (they do not give out many
medals in Gymnastics). The Final
Five won GOLD ALL AROUND!!! That
is AMAZING!!! The men did well as
well. Also, Simone Biles won
individual all-around and Aly Raisman
won silver in individual all around.
