Brunswick County Parks & Recreation 50+ Golf
2017 POLICIES & PROCEDURES
1. Tournaments are open to Brunswick County residents, age 50+ (must be 50 by 12/31/17).
2. Awards are given immediately following each tournament in each age group for men & women
for lowest gross score. Age groupings for awards: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74,
75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99, etc.
3. Price for play will typically include cart and greens fees, tips for cart attendants, refreshments,
and prizes. Please see each month’s tournament details.
4. Registration for each golf tournament will begin the Friday after the current month’s tournament and continue until the day prior to the next tournament or until filled. Pre-registration
is required. To do so, email your request to Khrystye Haselden at
[email protected] or call (910)253-2677. Early emails or calls will
not be accepted. When registering, please have all players’ names and ages. Also, be
sure to leave a phone number where you can be reached to confirm your entry.
5. Payment must be in the form of cash or check made payable to the golf course during the
sign-in hour prior to play. Credit cards cannot be accepted. If you are with a group, it is
suggested that you designate one player in your group to gather payment from each
person to bring to sign-in. This will help expedite the sign-in process and shorten your
wait time in line.
7. Participants may choose their foursome, but will compete within each individual age group.
Individuals or twosomes may also sign-up and will be placed in a foursome.
8. Men 50-69 typically play from the white tees, men 70 and over play from the gold tees, and
women play from the red tees. Men 80 and over have the option to play from the red tees.
9. 5 1/2 hours will typically be allotted for play. This may change due to inclement weather or
group size. Golf course pro will make the final decision regarding time allotted. Please
be aware that slow play may be a factor with large groups. Where ever possible, it is YOUR
responsibility to ask the group ahead of you if you can play through. The triple bogey pick
up rule is used to help expedite play.
10. At the end of the allotted time for play, prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place
winners. Players who have not turned in their scorecards within the allotted time for play are
not eligible for prizes.
11. Scorecards MUST include last name, first initial and age to be eligible for prizes.
12. Players MUST BE PRESENT to claim prizes.
13. BC Gator Senior Games & SilverArts Golf Qualifier is included in this
series and will be held at Oak Island Golf on April 6. To participate
in this tourney you must complete a BCGSG&SA entry form. Late
entry form deadline is 3/24/17. BC Gator Sr Games & SilverArts are
sanctioned by NC Senior Games. Qualifiers are eligible to compete
in State Finals held in Winston-Salem in October 2017. Visit
