Save Money by Registering Online for NC Senior Games
Save $8 by registering on line for NCSG by July 1. Here is the link which you can click on
to register http://www.ncseniorgames.org/entrypacket.pdf. If you are new at online
registration, give it a try. You may find that it is much simpler than the hand written
copy which must be mailed. August 1 is the deadline to enter the NC Senior Games for
2015. Be encouraged to participate. I would love to see continued Piedmont Plus
domination at the State level.

2015 NCSG Player/Partner Pick Up
Note that on the North Carolina Senior Games website that there are opportunities to
pick up players for Softball and Basketball in the case you are in need of a couple of players
to help out your team. This also works in the case that your team is not going to the NCSG.
You can list your name and contact information and potentially be picked up to play. The
deadlines are August 21 for softball (teams may add up to five players) and October 16
for basketball (teams may add up to three players).
Note that there is also a page dedicated to partners looking for partners on the NC
Senior Games website. If you have qualified, but you partner cannot make the State
Senior Games go ahead and register and keep your eye on the NCSG website. There is
one young lady listed already looking for a table tennis partner in the 60-64 category.
For you doubles pickleballers, table tennis players, bowlers and etc, please make sure to
use this resource. You may develop a lifelong friendship through the sport that you love.

2015 PPSG Participation Hits a New HIGH
This year we had 557 participants in the Piedmont Plus Senior Games and SilverArts. This
is the highest participation we have ever experienced in Forsyth and Stokes Counties. If
visiting softball players were added we would have in excess of 650 participants for this
year. Of the 557, 88 were SilverArtists. It is your efforts of inviting others that has allowed
us to grow. If you know of some who participated in years past and took this year off, let
them know how much you (we) missed them and encourage them to come back this Fall
and next Spring.

Interested in Recycling Your Old Medals?
Are you one of many Senior Gamers and Silver Artists who have a drawer, cabinet, chest
or any other storage bin which is overrun with PPSG Senior Games medals? Several
Senior Gamers and SilverArtists have already stepped up and offered to “recycle” their
medals of years past. A couple of you have already recycled over 100 medals each!!! If
you are interested in recycling your medals with us, please let Jessi or I know and we will
work out the details with you. Be encouraged to keep those medals which are special to
you and have memorable stories behind them.

SilverArts Report
SilverArts went through some adjustment this year with a new Coordinator, Jessica
Garrett. Overall though the SilverArts display at South Fork and Performing Arts show
were very successful. Participation was down overall in SilverArts, so if you know
someone that happened to miss this year please invite them to come join us next year!
Also we always welcome new artist and talent to come experience PPSG SilverArts so
ask your friends who haven’t participated with us to join. We had a total of 120
registered SilverArtists this year! We had roughly 30 Heritage Arts entries, 35 Literary
Arts entries, and 75 Visual Arts entries. This is the most Literary Arts we have ever had
entered into SilverArts to date. I am very proud of all the talent our seniors in the
community have and am so lucky they are willing to share it for others to see and enjoy.

Recruiting SilverArts & Performing Arts Judges
We had some great judges this year for SilverArts but are in serious need of more. We
especially need more Heritage (crochet, woodworking, etc.) and Performing (singing,
dancing, etc.) Arts Judges. We are looking for people who can be unbiased and are
knowledgeable in the medium of art they are judging. If you know of anyone who would
be interested in Judging SilverArts for 2016 please have them contact Jessica Garrett:
336.727.2321 or [email protected].

Performing Arts Report
This year was definitely the biggest year ever for Performing Arts! We have over 60
individuals performing in 15 different acts. We had two teams of cheerleaders this year
which was extremely exciting with all their enthusiasm. We also had some great
dancing, instrumentalist, and vocalists. Our best in show went to Julia Schafer for her Tai
Chi Dance. This year’s Performing Arts show was on a Friday evening and it went great!
There were so many people at the show to cheer on the different acts that we were at
standing room only before the show even started. Needless to say we have outgrown
South Fork for this event. We are hoping the Performing Arts continues to grow.

Tye-dyed and Dri-fit Tees too Pricey
Many of you have expressed an interest in having the tye dyed and/or dri-fit T-shirts. After
doing extensive research it seems that these options would increase shirt costs by nearly
50% and therefore is not financially feasible. We are however, interested in hearing from
you about ideas for the 2016 PPSG t-shirt design. If you want to sketch something up and
get it to us, we would love to consider it.
