Rules
1. General Rules





All hockey Canada and hockey Québec. rules will be in effect.
Wearing of protective equipment is mandatory, including the neck protector.
No stick or equipment measurements will be taken.
Players receiving three stick infractions in the same game will be expelled.
All players or coaches expelled may be asked to meet with the disciplinary committee
depending on the referee’s report or upon the request of the officiating supervisor.
 The tournament management reserves the right to modify or add certain rules.
 No protest shall be accepted.
2. Length of games








Four games guaranteed.
A three minute warm up period will be allowed.
Three timed twelve minutes periods.
Quarter-finals: Same length as the round robin phase.
Semi-finals and finals: same length as the round robin phase.
Categories 2011- 2 periods 20 minutes In festival mode 4 games.
Ice shall be resurfaced after each game.
A delay of game penalty can be assessed for a lengthy delay after the warm up period or
for showing up late .
 There will be no overtime periods during the round robin phase.
 One, thirty second timeout will be allowed per team at any time during the game.

3. Overtime
 Only in the final quarter-semi-finals and finals five (5) minutes timed to 5 against 5 will be
played. If still tied, a period of five minutes(5) stop 4 against 4 will be played, if the tie
persists a period of five(5) minutes stop time to 3 against 3 will be played if there still tied
there will be a shooting of 3 players on each side, if equal player at a time on each side and
that until there is a winner.
 ( important all players must have gone once before returning to the first.)
4. Breaking a tie
 If all teams play against the same team:
A. The greatest number of victories
B. The least number of losses
C. The score between the two teams
D. Performance average (goals for minus goals against = )
E. The team that scored the first goal during the game played against the other
during the tournament
F. The greatest number of goals for
G. The least number of goals against
H. The team that scored the fastest goal of the round robin
I. The team having the least amount of penalty minutes
J. Drawing lots (coin toss)
 If the teams do not play against the same team:
A. The greatest number of victories
B. The least number of losses
C. The score between the two teams
D. The team that scored the first goal during the game played against the other
E. The team that scored the fastest goal of the round robin
F. The team having the least amount of penalty minutes
G. Drawing lots (coin toss)
Take note that in the event of the second scenario, if there is a tie between three (3) or more teams,
conditions ‘C and D’ will not apply to break the tie.

5.
Difference in the score
 The game time will not be timed if there is a difference of five (5) goals between the two
teams, only after the second period, However, if this difference is reduced, the game time
will once again become timed.
 Novice and atom : if the difference in the score between the two teams is five (5) goals or
more, the game time will not be timed until the end of the game
 Peewee and bantam : In the event that the difference in the score between the two teams
is five (5) goals or more in the third period, game will end.
6. Forming the teams
 All the players must provide, upon request, a birth certificate or baptism certificate
(photocopy accepted), a players card from hockey Québec or a provincial health card.
 Any fraudulent information on a player can lead to the player and coach being suspended
for the rest of the tournament. Depending on the situation, the team of the player can also
be disqualified.
 A team who don’t show in a game, could be disqualified of the tournament.
 A maximum of four (4) people can accompany the team.
 A player may only play for one team in his category.
 21 players can be registered on the team list of which three may be goaltenders.
 A maximum of 20 players may be dressed for the game.
 In the 03/02 category only 5 of the 02 players can play all the games of the tournament
 Take note that a player must participate in at least two round robin games to take part in
the semi-finals and finals.
 A player will not be allowed to play in a game if he is not found on the team list submitted
at the beginning of the tournament.

7. Body Checking – and length of penalties
 Body checking is authorized for the following categories: MAJOR PEEWEE class (04) D2 and D1
contact whit restriction / BANTAM 03/02 class open contact whit restriction .
 All minor penalties shall have a length of for 1 minutes 30 seconds, all major penalties shall last
4 minutes.
 A body check from behind will assessed a game misconduct penalty and the player will be
expelled (a one game suspension will also be assessed if it occurs during the last ten minutes of
the game or during the overtime period)
 If a suspension occurs during your last game, the tournament management will advise the other
tournaments of your suspension!!!
 Expulsions and suspensions are non-negotiable.
8. Other
 We ask you to show up 45 minutes before the game and to present yourself to the registrar.
Game times can be scheduled 15 minutes ahead of time and we ask you to be ready to play in the
event that this should occur.
 A coordinator will inform you of which room you will use and where it is located. Please vacate
the room thirty (30) minutes after the game.
 Sweater rules local team pale shirts and visiting team dark shirts.
 Important and required each team has a set of jerseys and local visitor.
 If the team colors cause for confusion, the visiting team must change their jerseys.

We give 4 tickets for the coaching staff and only these four authorized persons are permitted in the
corridors and rooms.
Each coach / manager who is behind the bench must possess the pass or they will be removed
from the game by the officials.

QUARTER FINALS SPLIT’S
2 POOL OF 8 TEAMS = Top four teams of each pool go to quarter finals.
3 POOL = Top 2 teams make playoffs + 2 WILD CARD. We recreate a standing will all 8 teams. 8 vs
1, 7 vs 2, 6 vs 3, 5 vs 4.
4 POOL = Top 2 teams of each pool go to quarter finals.
