Admission to Ph.D Course Work Program – 2016
Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia invites applications for Ph.D. Course Work from the eligible
candidates from 17-12-2015 to 25-01-2016 in the departments of 1)Anthropology and Tribal Studies, 2)Bengali,
3)Chemistry, 4)Commerce, 5)Economics, 6)Education, 7)English, 8)History, 9)Mathematics, 10)Philosophy,
11)Political Science, 12)Physics, 13)Sanskrit, 14)Santali, 15)Sociology and 16)Zoology.
Candidates should apply in the prescribed form available on the website. The downloaded form is to be
duly filled up and to be submitted along with a demand draft of Rs. 1000/- for Unreserved candidates and Rs. 500/for SC/ST / Physically Challenged candidate drawn in favour of Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, payable at
Purulia and submitted to The Registrar, Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, P.O. - Sainik School, Ranchi Road,
Purulia-723104, West Bengal, India.
Reservation: As per WB. Govt. Rules.
Eligibility:
1) 55% marks or equivalent grade in the concerned or allied subject of Post Graduation. SC, ST, OBC-A,
OBC-B and Physically Challenged candidates may apply if they have 50% marks or equivalent grade
in the concerned or allied subject of Post Graduation.
2) Candidates who have cleared NET / SET / GATE / M. Phil. (As per UGC Regulation – 2009) be
eligible to face directly the viva voce for selection in Pre-Ph.D. Course Work only.
3) The candidates who do not have NET / SET / GATE / M. Phil. (As per UGC Regulation – 2009) have
to clear Research Eligibility Test (RET) which will be conducted by Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University
and the date, time and other information related to RET will be uploaded in university website time to
time. Candidates who will clear RET – 2016 will call for viva voce for selection in Pre-Ph.D. Course
Work -2016 only.
Other necessary information related to the Ph.D. Course Work program will be posted in the S.K.B
University website from time to time.
