AssumptionCommunityisahealthcareorganizationlocatedinColdSpring,MN,providing
comprehensiveservicesrangingfromlong-termcaretohomehealthcareandcommunity-based
servicesandsupportsthatservetheelderlyandothersfacingchallenginglifesituations.Three
non-profitsarebasedwithinAssumptionCommunity:AssumptionHome,PioneerHousing,and
AssumptionCommunityServices.Ourdefininggoalistopromotequalityoflifebyservingolder
adultswithrespectfulrecognitionofeachperson’sprivacy,dignity,andworth;andtoprovidea
Christianenvironmentforall,regardlessofrace,creed,orcolor.
AssumptionCommunityisseekingafull-timeMarketingandDonorDevelopmentDirectorwhowill
beresponsibleforcreatingandimplementingacomprehensivemarketinganddonordevelopment
strategyforAssumptionCommunityServices.Thisnewlycreated,flexibleandfamily-friendly
positionwillreporttotheAdministrator.

• Ateamplayerwhoworkswellwithinorganizationsandnetworkseffectivelyinthe
community.
• Anexcellentcommunicator,withprovenabilitytocommunicateeffectively,bothorallyand
inwriting,withabroadrangeofconstituencies.
• Knowledgeableaboutlong-termcare,healthcare,capitalcampaigns,donordevelopment,
grantwriting,andcommunity-basedorganizations.
• Someonewhohasworkedwithandhasrespectfordiversecommunitiesandpeopleofall
agesandstationsinlife,apersonwhointeractsauthenticallywithothersandwho
understandsanddemonstratestheprinciplesofServantLeadership.

AREASOFRESPONSIBILITY:
AssumptionCommunityisseekingafulltimeMarketingandDonorDevelopmentDirectorto
coordinateandleadacapitalcampaign,aswellasleadindividualdonordevelopmentand
fundraisingstrategiesandactivitiesthatincreaseourdonorengagement,recognitionand
stewardship.Akeyaimistoincreasethenumberofnewgrantsanddonorsanddeepenthe
relationshipswithcurrentfunders,donorsandconstituents.TheMarketingandDonor

DevelopmentDirectorwillworkcloselywiththeAdministratorandLeadershipTeam,andwillstaff
theworkoftheAssumptionCommunityMarketingCommittee.Anadditionalgoalofthepositionis
toraisetheprofileandpublicawarenessofAssumptionCommunitythroughregular,effective
communications,updatedcollateralmaterials,andrelationshipswithmediaandotheroutlets.The
MarketingandDonorDevelopmentDirectorisexpectedtodevelopandmaintainathorough
knowledgeofAssumptionCommunity’smission,values,programs,impactandstories.
Incarryingouttheresponsibilitiesoftherole,theDirectordoesthefollowing:
FundraisingandDonorDevelopment:
• Developannualgoalsandstrategiesinindividualdonordevelopment.
• Developandmaintainthoroughknowledgeofcurrentdonors.Developplanstoretaincurrent
donors,andincreasethosedonations.
• Identify,cultivate,solicit,andstewardnewdonors.
• Leadfundraising(includingcapital)campaignsincludingdirectappeals,socialmedia,and
crowdsourcing.
• Workwithdatabasetoolstoeffectivelyorganizedonorinformation.
• Developandmanageanannualgrantscalendar.Applyforrelevantgrantsandfollowupwith
reportingrequirementstofundingorganizations.
• Engagetheorganizationinfundraisingactivities.
• Assistwithotherfundraisingactivitiesasrequested.
CommunicationsandCommunityoutreach:
• RepresentAssumptionCommunityatcommunityeventsandactivities.
• Buildmediarelationships;writeanddistributepressreleasesorarticlesasneeded.
• Workwithstafftodevelopandupdatemarketingmaterials.
• Managewebsiteandsocialmediaandwritecontentasneeded.
• Createand/ordisseminatemassemails.
Organization:
• Developannualfundraisingbudget.
• ProvidestaffsupporttotheMarketingCommittee.
• Participateinstaffmeetings.
• Identifyandparticipateinprofessionaldevelopmentactivities.
• Maintainup-to-dateknowledgeinrelevantprofessionalfieldsofnonprofitfundraisingand
marketing.
• Coordinatewithinternsandvolunteers.

EDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors’degree,or2yearsrelevantexperience.
• Successfulgrantwriting,fundraising,andcapitalcampaignexperience.
• Excellentinter-personalandrelationship-buildingskills.
• Knowledgeandexperienceinnon-profitfundraisingwork,andspecificallyindividualgiving
strategiesandcampaigns,toolsandresources,andambitiontolearnmore.
• ComputerproficiencyinMicrosoftWord,ExcelandPowerPoint.
• Abilitytousedatabasesoftwareanddonormanagementorfundraisingsoftware.
• Experienceandproficiencywithsocialmediaandwebsoftware.
• Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationsskills,andabilitytorepresentAssumption
Communitytoavarietyofaudiences.
• Experiencewithleadingfundraisingevents,campaigns,directappealsandindividualdonor
development.
• Projectmanagementexperience,withaprovenabilitytocommunicateandcompletework
effectivelyandefficiently;goalorientedandself-motivated.
• Experienceandabilitytoworkbothindependentlyandcollaborativelywithotherstaffandin
teamsorcommittees.

• Experienceinnon-profitenvironment;healthcare/long-term-careexperiencepreferred.

COMPENSATION:
Compensationiscompetitiveandcommensuratewithexperience.
