CONDITIONS OF PLAY
MONA VALE SILVER SALVER AND BRONZE BOWL
STROKE EVENT with trophies for Winners, Runners-up and Nett
in each division.
Silver Salver GA handicap Plus – 20.0
Bronze Bowl GA handicap 20.1 - 45.4
Participants must be women golfers with a current GA handicap. Play is to be strictly to the
Rules of Golf (Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews), Local Rules and By-laws of the club.
Any and all decisions pertaining to questionable situations will be made by the Match
Committee and will be governed by the above Rules of Golf. Competition will be played if the
course is not closed.
It is the players’ responsibility to ensure that their daily handicap is entered on their scorecard,
using their current GA handicap and the Daily Handicap Lookup Chart supplied.
Use of mobile phones is not permitted on the course. Players may have a caddie. Players may
obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.
In the event of a tie for the gross score, there will be a 3-hole aggregate play-off over holes
16,17 and 18 and if still tied, sudden death over the same holes until a result is obtained. Count
back for Nett results determined by best nett score for the last 9 holes applying the stroke index
for those holes, if then still a tie, the last 6 holes, or if still tied the last three. If a tie still persists
then hole by hole back from the 18th.
Players cannot win both the Scratch and Nett events.
Time of Starting - Rule 6-3: Players shall start at the time laid down by the Committee. If a
player arrives, ready to play, within five minutes after her starting time, the penalty for breach of
Rule 6-3a is two strokes. Otherwise, in the absence of exceptional circumstances which the
Committee considers warrant waiving the penalty, the penalty is disqualification.
Disputes: If there is any difficulty in the correct application of the Rules in any situation - a
second ball may be dropped no nearer the hole and as close as possible to the situation from
where the original ball was hit and these two balls will be in play for one hole only. The second
ball is not a provisional ball. Clarification is to be sought from the match committee before the
card is handed in.
Lodging of Objections: In all competitions under GA conditions, objections shall be made to the
committee responsible for the competition. The match Committee reserves the right to vary the
Conditions of Play to deal with unforeseen circumstances.
Practice is not permitted on the course prior to hit off time on the day. However, the practice
putting greens, chipping areas and practice nets may be utilised.
