purposes.

The 90-meter resolution Digital Elevation Model
(DEM) available for the study for the affected
area was the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission
Digital Elevation Model (SRTM DEM).
Flood extents and flood depths were derived by
performing one dimensional hydraulic routing
through the Shire River system for key return
period discharges; and these were validated
using satellite images of recent flood events.
