CHESS IN SCHOOLS AND
COMMUNITIES
www.chessinschools.co.uk
Chess in Schools and Communities is a charity
that was set up in 2010 after the 1st London Chess
Classic. Our objectives are:
 To encourage teaching and playing chess in state
schools and inner city communities.
 To organise and promote world class chess
events as a catalyst for mass participation.
 To raise the profile of chess and highlight its
educational and social benefits.
CSC is currently operating in 29 boroughs across
England and Wales teaching over 6000 children.
We supply free chess equipment, chess tutors,
teaching materials and encourage the teaching of
chess in class time.
Our aim is to introduce chess into 1000 primary
schools by 2016.
