pioneering 7 year/100,000 mile warranty, the Carens is a family vehicle well equipped

The dynamic 'Kia face' is made up of a
distinctive tiger-nose grille, sculpted front
bumper and reshaped bonnet. These stylish
changes are complemented by body coloured
bumpers and door handles.
The combination of comfort and versatility
puts the Carens in a class of its own.
Designed with enough space to seat
adults, children and friends plus everybody’s
luggage, but compact enough for city traffic
and parking spaces. The Carens is available
as a 5- or 7-seater and the practical 60:40
flat-folding 2nd row seats mean you can
arrange the ideal configuration for every
trip, offering greater flexibility to suit your
needs and an impressive 2,106 litres of load
capacity. Stylish privacy glass is a standard
feature on the Carens '3' model. As well as
providing security it adds elegance to the
exterior appearance of the model.
Inside, the Carens is roomy and resourceful. With
a contemporary centre fascia that brings all
controls within reach and a commanding driving
position for a clear, all-round view, every trip is
a pleasure. The raised gearshift is conveniently
located in the middle console, where it’s close
to hand. For added comfort there is an air
conditioning system, electrically adjustable
door mirrors, all-round electric windows with
driver's auto down function and an RDS radio/
CD audio with MP3 disc compatibility.

STRETCH OUT
Sporting a long wheelbase and high roofline,
the interior of the Carens offers lots of space,
translating into more head room, shoulder
room and leg room than traditionally seen in
the mid-sized MPV market. The Carens allows
you to arrange the five or seven seats to suit
your needs, whether it's picking up a car full of
children or a trip to the shopping centre. The
easily adaptable seating configurations make
life easy.
With class-leading levels of versatility, the
Carens features creative storage compartments
that produce lots of additional space. Storage
boxes and pockets throughout the cabin
ensure that everything is neatly tucked away
and within reach, no matter where you sit.

COMPLETE PROTECTION
The advanced safety features throughout the Carens ensure driver and passenger
protection at all times. Intensive research and development work has gone into ensuring
that high levels of protection are built into the body shell, structure and chassis.
The impressive standard safety and security
feature list includes six airbags (twin front, front
seat side and curtain), front seatbelt pretensioners and front active head rests to protect front passengers against whiplash injuries.
Other safety and security features include
ISOFIX child seat anchor points and rear door
safety locks to protect younger occupants, a
front passenger airbag cutoff switch and allround 3-point seatbelts.
The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
ensure braking energy is evenly distributed
between the four wheels to keep you in
control whatever the conditions whilst
maximising stopping power and shortening
braking distances.
All Carens models are fitted with Electronic
Stability Control (ESC) as standard. This
important safety technology automatically
applies the brakes to individual wheels as
required to help bring the car back under
control in adverse conditions or to correct over
or under steer.

POWERFUL PERFORMANCE
WITH PRECISION
Packed with power, yet quiet and fuel efficient
– that is what drives the art and science of
Kia’s engine technology. The Carens range has
a choice of a 1.6 litre petrol or diesel 5 seat
version and diesel 7 seat versions.
All engines comply with the latest Euro 5
emission standards so are highly efficient and
produce lower emissions, saving you money
as well as lowering the environmental impact.
For added fuel economy, an eco-shift indicator
comes as standard (on petrol models only),
alerting you to the optimal time to change gear.
The diesel engine is fitted with a Diesel
Particulate Filter (DPF) to reduce harmful
exhaust gases without compromising engine
performance.
The Carens is available with smooth 5-speed
(petrol) or 6-speed manual transmissions
(diesel) for a refined and responsive drive.
