1. EXPLANATORY NOTES
Syllabus of the discipline was developed on the basis of the syllabus of the discipline
"Basis of Scientific Researches" and "Guidelines for the development and execution of Syllabus
and Currirulum of disciplines", promulgated by order dated 16.06.15 N37/роз
Syllabus on the discipline « Basis of Scientific Researches» reflects the essence of the
methodology, concepts, methods and techniques in scientific work in economics and
management of the enterprise (organization), field.
Aim is to outline nature of the methodology, methods, concepts and notions of scientific
research processes in the economic relations of enterprises htat form the ability to apply them in
practice and organize research.
The main students’ objectives during the study of the subject are the following:
- mastery of methodology, methods, concepts and logic of scientific research of economic
processes and management systems;
- mastering methodical positions in planning, organizing, controlling, coordinating
scientific research;
- use of complex knowledge in management and economic disciplines to create favorable
conditions for research.
As a result of studying the discipline a student must:
know:
- basic concepts, principles and principles of scientific research;
- types of research, and especially their postings;
- methodologies, techniques, logic and techniques of scientific research;
- essence of theoretical and empirical methods of research;
- possibilities and limits of application of modeling techniques of economic processes;
- methodical and organizational features of economic research;
- coordination complex nature of scientific research;
- organization of research students;
- standards for the design of research results;
- forms of testing and displaying the results of research;
learning outcomes:
- formulate and actualize economic problems, justify the ways and means to solve them;
- put the task to justify methods to solve them;
- formulate working hypotheses and determine methods of inspection;
- organize collection of necessary information for the research;
- conduct research and analysis of literature and summarize the results of scientific
schools;
- use latest research results in their studies;
- conduct research of economic systems and processes;
- conduct experimental estimates;
- justify their findings and identify areas of their implementation;
- evaluate effectiveness of the implementation of research results;
- display research results in the form of reports, essays, articles, abstracts.
Integrated requirements for learning outcomes in educational modules
The subject matter of the subject is structured according to modular principle and it consists of
two classical modules. As a result of studying the material of module № 1 “Methodology and
methods of scientific researches” and module № 2 “Organization of economic researches”. The
discipline "Basis of scientific researches" is based on the knowledge of such subjects as
“Political Science", "Economic theory", "Rhetoric" and is the basis for study of such disciplines
as: "Macroeconomics", "Management" and others.

2. SUBJECT CONTENT
2.1.Module №1 " Methodology and methods of scientific researches"
Topic 2.1.1. Science as a system of knowledge and as a special form of creativity.
Need to master scientific method of progressive manager. Cognitive tasks of scientific
research: empirical, theoretical, logical. The evolution of science. Classification of scientific
disciplines and research. Methodology scientific idea. The hypothesis of the test. Experiment.
The formulation of concepts, principles, categories. The main product, primary purpose and
function of science. Requirements for scientific research. Subject and object of study.
Methodology, methods and techniques of scientific research. Their importance in the innovation
development of society. The concept of scientific school. Legal and ethical principles of
scientific activity. The structure of scientific institutions of Ukraine.
Topic 2.1.2. Fundamental and applied research.
Levels of methodology of scientific knowledge. Logic of scientific knowledge: a
paradigm - a paradox - a new paradigm. Innovative creative research. Scientific research as a
cyclical process: idea - basic research - the search (intelligence) research - applied research experimental design and technological activities - pilot production - industrial production commercialization - a new idea. General scientific and special methods. Coherence and
consistency of applied and fundamental sciences. Problems with planning and coordination of
fundamental research. Ability to plan and coordinate applied research. Form of results of basic
and applied research.
Topic 2.1.3. Methodological foundations and methods in research.
Principles in research. Methods of research. Theoretical methods. Typology general
theoretical research methods (analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, modeling, design,
forecasting, ordering, mind experiment). Location and especially the use of analytical and
statistical methods for processing scientific data. Classification researchers. Structure and
organization of complex scientific research. Planning methods and means of coordination of
complex research projects. Modern organizational and economic forms and mechanisms of
regulation of scientific research.
Topic 2.1.4. Information support of scientific research
Law of Ukraine "On Information". Essence of scientific and technical information, its
resources. Reference information collections, reference and search tools. Informational resources
sharing, processing methods of scientific and technical information. Market information. Task of
national and international scientific and technical information. Basic types of information
sources and their mode of access to it. primary and secondary data. Ownership of information.
Informational products and services. Basic types of publications that set the state standard.
Modern information systems. Problems of reliability and data protection.
Topic 2.1.5. Evaluating the effectiveness of research results.
Features and problems of evaluating the effectiveness of scientific research and problem
of evaluating the effectiveness of the SRW. Factors elements and performance criteria of
scientific research: economic, scientific, technical, environmental and social. Representation.
Additive. Uniqueness. Compatibility. Accountability. Economic efficiency: resource, cost,
previous and expected, actually. Indicators of economic efficiency of scientific research.
Reserves and ways to improve scientific research.

Planetary, continental, national, regional, sectoral economic problems. Updating
scientific and practical problems of modern management. Classification of economic sciences.
Basic principles of economics. Problems of modern economic science. Scientific prediction and
forecasting in economics and management. Flow chart of economic research of hierarchical level
scale. The evolution of scientific economic structures. Academic staff and economic
characteristics of their training. Virtual research organization. Copyright and its protection.
Types and forms of plagiarism and its legal consequences. The moral and ethical responsibility
of scientists.
Topic 2.2.2. Methodology, logic and methods of economic research.
The role of scientific method in reasoning and decision-making. Updating economic
problems and tasks management. Analysis of ways and methods to solve them. Criteria for
selection and justification of the research subject. Identification and justification of the subject
and object of study, choice of database research subject of economic research. Formulation of
working hypotheses, choice of methods and means of simulation. Development and application
of research methodology. Justification methods. Stages of scientific economic research.
Definition of information security. Features modeling of economic processes and
implementation of research results.
Topic 2.2.3. Methods of empirical economic research.
The essence of empirical knowledge. Empirical studies as a knowledge base of
theoretical research. Nature of the subject of empirical economic research. Methodological
approaches and objectives of empirical economic research. Program and methodology of
empirical economic research. The concept of observation, experience, experiment in economic
research. Methods of implementation and use. The concept of statistical regularities. Nature
methodical, systematic and random errors and errors. Aging and reliability of economic
information. Methods of data collection, processing, summarizing values of economic indicators
to assess their credibility. Terms establishment of scientific facts. Sources of economic
information. The concept of managerial, statistical, accounting, tax accounting. The task of
forming an information base for economic research. Features and shape the implementation in
practice of the results of economic research.
Topic 2.2.4. Features of the organization and conduct of student research work.
Mastery of the scientific method – key to successful learning of the research and thinking
skills og competitive modern managers. Forms of participation of students in research work
departments, laboratories, research and teaching centers. Organization of independent scientific
work of the student. Exploratory self-study student in mastering academic subjects and practical
training. Teaching tips for independent research and analysis of literature and synthesis of
scientific schools. Criteria for selecting the direction and topics of scientific research.
Development plan and program of individual research. Abstract concept, especially its
preparation. Forms of student participation in scientific seminars, conferences and competitions.
Features of the preparation of the text and abstracts. Forms of promotion of the scientific activity
of students.
Topic 2.2.5. Method of mapping and design rules of research results.
Scientific results and requirements. Processing of the results of scientific research. Structure,
rules and procedures for processing the results of research. Testing of scientific results. Method
of displaying results of scientific research (message, report, abstract, scientific article, pamphlet,
preprint, thesis, monographs, thesis) and their testing. Requirements for the content of scientific
research. Scientific language. Basic requirements of international and national standards for
scientific and technical documentation. Procedure for review and mastery of scientific research.
