The Hazelwood School District is seeking bids for the purchase of a Rational Self-Cooking
Center delivered, installed set-up, set in place at Northwest Middle School, 1605 Shackelford
Road, Florissant MO 63031.
Please return this bid in a sealed envelope marked “Food Service: Rational Self-Cooking
Center” to the Hazelwood School District Business Office on or before Monday, September
28, 2015 not later than 2:30 p.m. CDT.

Responses must be submitted on or before the date and time listed above. The Hazelwood School
District is not responsible for late or incorrect deliveries from the US Postal Service (USPS) or any other
mail delivery service. All bid responses must be submitted to the address described herein. The
Hazelwood School District reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.

Supplier Diversity
The Hazelwood School District has established a Supplier Diversity Program to provide opportunities for the
meaningful participation of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women Business Enterprises (WBEs) in
purchases made by the District. The District has established a MBE goal of fifteen percent (15%) and a WBE
goal of five percent (5%) utilization for all manufacturers, suppliers of goods, and brokers.
A manufacturer, supplier of goods, or broker who has achieved the participation goals for MBE/WBEs, as defined
herein, will be in compliance with the requirements of this specification. A manufacturer, supplier of goods, or
broker who cannot achieve the goals for MBE/WBE participation must be able to demonstrate that the required
positive efforts were initiated prior to submittal of the proposal. If the business partner cannot demonstrate the
required positive efforts, the proposal will be rejected as non-responsive.
The District will accept, as prospective MBE/WBE participants for these projects, only those MBE/WBE firms
which have been certified by one or more of the following agencies on or before the date of the bid opening:

City of St. Louis (St. Louis Development Corporation/Airport Authority)
2.
St. Louis Minority Supplier Development Council (SLMSDC)
3.
Missouri Regional Certification Committee (MRCC)
4.
State Certifications, e.g., the State of Missouri and other states
5.
National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC)
6.
Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and its affiliates
In the case of a manufacturer, the District will also accept MBE/WBE certification by any state division of
purchasing or the National Minority Supplier Development Council and its affiliates.
HSD reserves the right to reject any certification if it is discovered that the same entity was denied certification by
any of the other agencies listed above. If HSD does not accept a MBE or WBE’s certification, HSD will notify
the MBE or WBE in writing.
The Hazelwood School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted. All bids must comply with
the policies of the Hazelwood School District. We have tax exempt status.

I
SCOPE OF WORK
For furnishing, delivery and installation of new RATIONAL Self Cooking Center
required at Northwest Middle School in the Hazelwood School District.
The following project is to be a manufactures authorized service agency, delivered and
installed project. All work involved shall be performed by the manufacturer’s authorized
service agency and shall be provided through a Kitchen Equipment Contractor. (KEC)

 Remove existing combi oven steamer and haul from premise.

Receive, deliver, set and install new RATIONAL Self Cooking Center.

Self Cooking Center & Stand

SIZE: 42” W x 38¼” D x 40” High
DESCRIPTION:
a.) Single compartment Combi oven/steamer. All stainless steel construction with fully welded
frame for maximum strength.
b.) Furnish stainless steel door with vision window to allow user to observe product without
opening door. Vision window must be supplied with a back ventilated double pane window to
minimize heat radiation from the door and facilitate easier cleaning.
c.) Self-Cooking Center shall be supplied with “intelligent software” that enables the operator
to simply select a food item to be cooked, select a finished temperature and coloration and the
Self Cooking Center will automatically select and adjust temperatures and humidity settings
throughout the cooking cycle to produce consistent results.

d.) The Self Cooking Center will also have the ability to be manually programmed in the event
the operator wishes to create any special cooking or reheating functions to meet their everyday
needs.
e.) Compartment shall be supplied with a separate, self-contained, self-cleaning, high
performance, instant recovery steam generator. Self-Cleaning mode shall have seven different
stages. Auto cleaning shall also include descaling of steam generator.
f.) Fan must be supplied with a five speed motor.
g.) Oven interior designed to allow for chemical cleaning with tablets as well as the ability to
hose down the interior for easy cleaning. Hose assembly shall be integrated inside the oven body
and supplied with a retractable hose and nozzle. This will ensure the maintenance of sanitation
standards. External mounting of the hose shall not be accepted.
h.) Unit to be supplied with a fully automated vapor quenching system to prevent taste
transfer of food product.
i.) Furnish five (5) stainless steel grid oven racks, per oven cavity.
j.) Oven must be supplied with a HACCP serial interface monitor for core temperature
and cooking documentation that allows data to be stored or printed. This will allow the operator
to meet recommended health standards.
k.) Self Cooking Center to operate on 208 volts, 3 Phase. (VERIFY)
Must furnish demonstration training.
l.) UGII Stand on legs.
m.) Furnish two-year parts and labor warranty.
n.) Provide Chef Start 4 hour.
o.) Furnish ten (10) French fry baskets and five extra stainless steel grid shelves.
p.) Furnish one case of Cleaner tablets (100 each), one case of CARE tablets (50 each)
q.) Furnish one set of installation components item #8720.1554 US.
