Let the Good Times Roll
Oinktoberfest was a huge success thanks to you, our
wonderful customers and friends. Socializing with you
outside of the bank is very special to us. Thank you for
taking time out of your busy lives to share the evening
with your Hometown Banking Team.

Dear Friend &
Shareholder...
As summer ends and the days begin to get shorter and shorter
and nights cooler, we begin to experience the combination of
changes that create the beautiful fall foliage colors we are
enjoying right now.
decided it was time to upgrade so also watch for our all new
state-of-the art ATM. For those of you who haven’t used our ATM,
it is located on the front of our building near the exit of our drive
up window.
Pumpkins are ripe on the vine and ready to be picked for Fall
festivities and flavorful enough for making that special treat
(speaking of treats, look further into this newsletter for a recipe for
a Pumpkin favorite).
With just a few months left in the year and the holiday season
upon us, this is a perfect time for us to thank all of you for
supporting our Bank and for being a part of our success. Our
Oinktoberfest BBQ celebration is one
of the ways we like to thank our
customers and shareholders. For
those of you who braved the wind and
joined us we hope you enjoyed getting
together with friends as much as we
enjoyed having your company.
Most of the harvest of our local
crops has just about concluded
and rice fields are being flooded to
accommodate the many sportsmen
who enjoy duck season in our area
(including Jeff Cryer the Bank’s
Executive Vice President/Chief
Credit Officer).
Pumpkins are
ripe on the vine and
ready to be picked
for Fall festivities
As the seasons change and we look
back on the year, the first nine months
have been great for the Bank as we ended September 30, 2013
posting our 16th consecutive quarter of profitability. The Bank’s
net income for the third quarter 2013 was $136,000, pushing net
income to $534,000 for the first nine months of the year, $158,000
higher than the nine month period ending September 30, 2012.
As I have mentioned in past
newsletters, so much of our business
is by word of mouth and we always
appreciate when you refer business
to us (“your Bank”). If you have a friend or business associate
you think might benefit from a relationship with Bank of Feather
River, please let me know and we will contact them personally. As
always, please do not hesitate to contact me at 530-755-3700 if we
can be of any assistance to your efforts.
The Bank’s assets grew $6,000,000 or 11% to $62,000,000 from
September 30, 2012 to September 30, 2013, with loans growing
17% to $52,000,000, and deposits increasing 12% to $53,000,000
during that same time period.
We hope you take the time to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and
on behalf of our staff and Board of Directors, thank you for your
continued support.
The Banks book value per share increased to $10.49 at September
30, 2013 from $9.62 per share at September 30, 2012. The Bank’s
Tier 1 leverage capital ratio was 13.66% at September 30, 2013, well
above the 5.00% regulatory minimum for a Well-Capitalized Bank.
Sincerely,
From a technology standpoint, the staff spent the last quarter
preparing for the world of social media, so look for your Bank
on Facebook. Further, after months of issues with our ATM, we

Personal Banker /
Bank of Feather River
My favorite thing about working at BOFR is building relationships
and dealing with our regulars on a daily basis.
I was born in Michigan, raised in California. Played baseball,
wrestled, and graduated from Yuba City High School. Previously,
I was a Merchant Teller at another community bank.
What do you like best about our local community? I like the
diversity in our community and the option to have so many
outdoor activities so easily accessible.
Some of my hobbies include playing sports, watching sports, and
going on adventures with friends.
My favorite fall activities include football, duck hunting,
and watching MLB Playoffs. Oh, and pumpkin beers are a must.
Have you been to Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm and what is your
favorite part? I’ve been going to Bishop’s Pumpkin farm since
I was little kid. My best memories are riding out to the pumpkin
patches in a tractor pulled trailer.

What do you like best about serving on the Board of Bank of Feather
River? The professionalism of the senior management team and
the depth of knowledge provided by my fellow directors. It is also
nice to be able to hang out with my good friend Mr. Cryer.
What sets Bank of Feather River apart from other banks? Long term
relationships with members of our community. Relationships that
started out as banking relationships have evolved over time into
good friendships.
Tell me a little bit about your family & professional background?
Married to Julie for almost 15 years with two kids Kristen and
Jimmy, and our spoiled rotten schnauzer Harley. Graduated from
UC Davis undergraduate and Boalt Hall School of Law. I have been
practicing law in Yuba City since 1986. I am with the law firm of
Martinez Hayes and Hill LLP.
What do you like best about our local community? The proximity to
Tahoe, San Francisco and Napa.
How did you become involved with Pink October? Through my
friendship with Larry Geweke. We have been playing poker
together for many years. We started out as a poker group but now
we are more of a dinner group
with poker as a side.

A Special Thanks goes out to
all who helped bring the FUN to
Oinktoberfest. This was our 4th
year to show our appreciation
to our shareholders, customers
and friends with our annual
fall celebration. We didn’t let a
little wind keep us from putting
on a great party. The music of
the Full Throttle Band along
with enjoying some great food
and drinks made it a perfect
evening. Thank you very much
for allowing us to be YOUR
Hometown Bank!
Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm - A Family Affair
Bill, Sandy, Meghan, Ann, Khloe, Wayne and Austin Bishop
How long have you been growing
pumpkins and what made you
choose pumpkins? The first
pumpkins were planted in 1973,
so this is our 41st year. We had
a small field that Dad wasn’t
planting in anything. Mom had
been a teacher and wanted to
get kids out to a farm on a field
trip. She thought pumpkins
would be a good way to get
them to come.
What makes our area good for
growing pumpkins? Just about
anything grows well here. It
can be a little hotter here in
the summer than what is ideal
for pumpkins but they still do
well. Our dry summers are good
because high humidity can
promote mildews which are
hard on pumpkins.
How many varieties do you grow
and what are your personal
favorites? We grow 60 or 70
varieties of pumpkins, squash,
and gourds. My favorite
probably is Winter Luxury,
which is an heirloom variety we
use in our pumpkin pies. We
also grew a new pink variety
this year called Porcelain Doll,
which raises money for breast
cancer research. We will plant
lots more of those next year
because the response to them
has been really positive.
How many people do you have
working at the Pumpkin Farm?
We have 6 full time people all
year. We add about 30 for our
spring Hamburger Farm field
trip. This fall we added 370
temporary people.
How has Bank of Feather River
helped your business? We had
been doing the bulk of our
business with another bank for
many years. Earlier this year,
they told us they would be
instituting various new charges
costing us several thousand
dollars per year. We knew we
needed to move to a small
bank. I talked to three banks
in the community and Bank
of Feather River was by far the
most responsive to our needs.
They were able to customize a
fee schedule for us that will cut
our banking fees approximately
in half. They were also able to
coordinate a more secure way
for us to make cash deposits.
Bank of Feather River made the
effort to understand
our needs and came
up with solutions
that work.
After the pumpkin season
is over, what do you like
to do to relax? Ann and I
like to travel. We were in
England when the future
king was born and got
interviewed on the street
by the BBC. We also like to
spend time with our three
grown children and our three
granddaughters. We do spend
lots of time working on the
short and long term future of
the business all year.
What is your favorite thing to eat
at the Pumpkin Farm? French
Apple Pie, Pumpkin Bread,
Apple Dumplings, Pumpkin
Apple Muffins, Corn Dogs,
Roasted Corn, Walnut Pie, …
I could go on.
