To develop and deliver sustainable transport projects as
part of Greater Manchester’s Travel Choices agenda. This
includes developing and mobilising new projects,
overseeing project delivery, and monitoring benefits.

Develop and maintain a
programme of joint
initiatives to encourage
sustainable travel.
 Assist the Travel Choices Manager in developing a
pipeline portfolio of travel choices and sustainable
travel initiatives.
 Collate scheme information, develop scheme
proformas and prioritise initiatives, working with
stakeholders and district colleagues.
 Manage the updating of the pipeline portfolio of
sustainable travel initiatives.

Data collected and reported.
 Coordinate appropriate data collection to monitor and
evaluate the effectiveness of sustainable travel and
travel choices and their contribution to TfGM’s
objectives.
 Prepare reports and presentations on implementation
and impacts of interventions.

 Develop projects as part of the Greater Manchester’s
Travel Choices agenda.
 Undertake scoping and feasibility of potential delivery
mechanisms and make recommendations to the
management team.
 Oversee the transition of schemes to business as usual
activities.
 Investigate options for the development of future
projects that will benefit the Travel Choices wider
cycling and walking agenda.
 Assist, or where appropriate, take responsibility for, the
preparation of outputs and outcomes reports for the
DfT and other funders, collating information across the
Travel Choices programme.

Bidding
 Identify and explore opportunities for further Travel
Choices funding
 Assist with, or where appropriate, take responsibility
for, the development of future sustainable travel and
travel choices initiatives
 Support, or as directed lead, funding bid submissions.

Support delivery of the TfGM
Travel Choices programme.
 Assist with developing positive working relationships
with other departments in TfGM and with relevant GM
and national partners.
 Assist with the building of relationships with key
stakeholders in order to maximise opportunities for
joint working to deliver appropriate solutions.
 Assist with the integration of projects across all
workstreams within the Travel Choices programme.

Essential Experience:
Experience of developing and delivering sustainable travel and travel choices schemes.
Experience of developing programmes including identifying practical solutions to
address strategic priorities.
Experience of stakeholder management, including partnership working with local
authority, voluntary sector and transport industry partners.
Experience of preparing clear and well-structured reports or other written material for a
variety of audiences.
Experience of project planning and management.
Experience of working to meet tight and rapidly changing timescales and meeting
funding and operational targets.
Experience of translating corporate objectives into deliverables.
Experience in developing and submitting funding bids.
Experience of delivering complex projects to time and budget.
Essential Qualifications – Technical, Vocational or educational:
Educated to degree level or equivalent.
