2017-2018 Open Call for Consultants
The CT Association for the Education of Young Children (CTAEYC) seeks qualified professionals to act as
consultants to assist with activities related to the delivery of high quality early childhood
programming:









Curriculum development and training expertise in Early Childhood Education and related
content including but not limited to:
o Adult learning theory;
o Pyramid Model Social and Emotional Competency;
o Infant & toddler development;
o Inclusive child care;
o Emergency preparedness for early childhood programs;
o Standards for the early childhood workforce, programs, and children’s learning;
o Professional development design and evaluation;
o Early language and literacy development;
o The use of program, classroom and child assessment tools, including but not limited to:
PAS, BAS, ITERS, ECERS, CLASS, Teaching Strategies Gold, DECA, ELLCO [please indicate
having achieved reliability on a tool(s) if applicable].
o Early childhood program governance;
o Marketing and public relations.
Consultative support for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
Early Childhood Program Standards and Accreditation Criteria.
Working knowledge of higher education teacher preparation programming and accreditation,
including but not limited to: NAEYC Early Childhood Associate Degree Accreditation (ECADA),
National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
Mentoring and Coaching for teachers and program administrators within early childhood
programs.
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential advising.
Study groups and preparation for Early Childhood Pathways Exams.
Early Childhood Teacher Credential (ECTC) portfolio reviewers and facilitators for portfolio
development sessions with early childhood teachers.
Training in computer applications including but not limited to: Google tools; and current
Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook).
Computer technical assistance and web page support.

Consultants must document experience and expertise in the content on which they seek to provide
support. Individuals who also speak Spanish or another language are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applications must include:



Current resume along with cover letter; and
Consultant questionnaire identifying which services they are qualified to provide
If interested in onsite mentoring and coaching, please attach 2 letters of recommendation
from centers/sites where work has been completed
No consultant resume or cover letter will be reviewed without a completed consultant questionnaire.
Respondents will be considered for work through June 30, 2018.

Deadline for response submission is June 15, 2017 at 2:00pm.
