1. Regular season play begins (weather permitting) the Tuesday after the Victoria Day weekend
and ends Sept 30th. All games including playoffs must be completed by and no later than Sept.
30th. Weekend maintenance will not be carried out before the Victoria Day weekend. Any use /
misuse of the fields prior to this date may delay the opening of the fields for play. Weather
permitting, artificial turf fields may open earlier than Victoria Day weekend.
2. Field payments must be submitted according to the payment schedule on the Rental Contract.
First payment must be made before the first game of the season along with player list(s)
including names, phone numbers and addresses with postal code.
3. No teams are to use any field (with the exception of non-organized playing fields, listed
below) without first booking through the Recreation and Social Facilitation Division.
4. Credits for rainouts or cancellations will be honoured. Regular cancellations require 48 hours
notice. Cancellations due to weather events must be reported within one business day to recieve
credit. Notice must be made by e-mail to [email protected]. Rainout cancellations will
be posted on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
5. Weekend requests for field bookings received after 5:00pm on the Thursday prior to, cannot
be guaranteed. Staff will try to accommodated the request but there is no guarantee.
6. Only city-owned vehicles and authorized persons are permitted to drag or work on fields.
Motorized vehicles of any description are not permitted in city parks (By-law No. L-8).
7. During any tournament play, field maintenance crews must be given clear access to fields to
carry out their duties. Players must leave the playing area. Failure to do so could mean loss of
field privileges.
8. We request your assistance in keeping the playing fields and players’ benches clean. Please
use provided garbage receptacles or remove your garbage following play.
9. Tampering with lighting or other city-owned equipment is prohibited. Consuming alcohol on
or around city fields is also prohibited. Violators risk losing future access to all city playing
fields.
10. Any group misusing the fields, causing public disturbance or harassing city maintenance staff
will be suspended from any further play on city facilities and all fees will be forfeited.
