RE: 2016 Contributions and Charges
Thank you for payment of your school contributions for this year. This money has made a significant
contribution to the programs that we have offered your child here at Millen Primary School.
The payment of the contributions each year supports the educational program that your child is
offered at Millen Primary School.
This payment is voluntary, however the quality of our teaching and learning program will be
enhanced when each family makes its contribution to the cost of supplementing funding gained
from other sources, including Commonwealth and State governments.
A school charge refers to the cost of providing extra optional activities which forms part of our
educational programs and which the contributions do not cover. Students at Millen will only incur
costs when they are directly involved in a particular activity. As in previous years, you will be asked
to make a payment for each activity as it approaches. The schedule (overleaf) has been broken into
sections that allow you to calculate all costs that you might incur during the following school year.
Parents can pay the contributions and charges off in full or by instalments. Please contact the office
to make individual payments arrangements.
Please note that if during the year your child leaves Millen Primary you may be entitled to a refund
of any unused contributions and charges. The remaining funds can also be transferred to the new
school. These refunds will be arranged upon request and the refund will be based on a rate
approved by the school council.
All contributions, charges, personal items, rates of refunds and additional request have been
endorsed and approved by the School Council.

Voluntary School Contributions:
As approved by the School Council and in accordance with the Department of
Education Contributions, Charges and Fees Policy. The funds are used towards the
cost of materials, services and facilities used by students in the educational
program. - eg: Photocopying, Teaching resources and materials, student
consumables materials and sports equipment

charged if incurred. Students will only incur these costs when they are directly involved in the activity. You
will be advised and asked to make payment for the activity as it approaches.
