BALNEÁRIO CAMBORIÚ - SANTA CATARINA- BRAZIL - September 11th to 16th 2012 SPECIFIC STANDARDS: Mandatory guidelines for all competitors 1. Registrations - The registration for the 2012 UCI Mountain Bike World Championship is done by filling out a registration form distributed by the organizer. The deadline for all the registrations (via mailed letters, fax, and internet) shall be turned in by no later than September 4th, 2012, 7 days before the first event according to the specific international guidelines. -There is no maximum limit in each category registration (except for the rulings in the UCI Guidelines in articles 4.7.004 and 4.7.005). - All the registrations must be sent to the organizing committee and not to UCI. Competitors must get the registration form straight from the www.ciclismosc.com.br site and send the form by fax to 55 47 3422 0137. It is not necessary to get authorization from your national federation. -It is not necessary for cyclists to wear the official uniform from their country during the practice runs or competition, although each cyclist must display their country’s flag on the helmet or clothing. FCC will provide the identification flag for the Bike ID plate. - Cyclists can participate in different types of races (cross country - XCO/ downhill - DHI). -Before the cyclists receive their number, they must sign a consent responsibility form, provided by the organizer. Cyclists must withdraw their kits; show their license and passport (or any other valid and formal ID document, such as a driver’s license or ID card). - All competitors must show a UCI license issued by their national federation. Licenses shall be verified at the registration counter, by the organizing commission secretary or an assistant authorized by the UCI. The valid license is required for participation for all competitors in any given event. If the license is missing, then the cyclist will be disqualified for competition. - According to UCI mountain bike guideline number 4.1.009, cyclists cannot compete in the Mountain Bike World Championship, if they have competed as elite cyclists in the elite World UCI Mountain Bike Championship in the same year. - The cyclists racing ID numbers must be withdrawn by 12 noon on the day before their competition. -In order to facilitate identification for each competitor, there shall be issued a credential for preferential access permission to competitions. Credentials are required to access to restricted areas and the cable car (for downhill). Competitors must carry their credentials at all times while in racing areas. This credential can also be revoked at anytime, as deemed necessary, when considered necessary by the referee commission. ID plates must be displayed during all practice runs on the track. - According to UCI general guideline number 1.1.006, each cyclist must be insured with life, personal accident, and liability insurance while competing or practicing. 2. Downhill Practice (DHI) 2.1 Track inspections (downhill). The track will be open for inspection for competitors on September 11th, 2012 starting at 2 p.m. 2.2 Official practice runs (downhill) September 12th to 15th, 2012. The official practice shall have the presence of physicians and security guards. Cyclists will only be given authorization to access to the track after being authorized by the starting line referee. - Competitors must make two practice runs down the track in compliance with the UCI guidelines. - The official designated time period for inspection is the only time the organizing committee is responsible for medical and safety support, other schedules they are not responsible. It is prohibited to access the track at all other time periods not designated for the official practice runs and inspection. -During practice runs, it is possible for the cyclists to inspect the track on foot, however walking off the track. 3. “QUALIFY” (Qualification Race) – Downhill starting lineup - Participation in the qualification race is mandatory for all racers. It is scheduled for September 14th, 2012 at 10 a.m. 3.1 Starting lineup The following is the starting lineup order: Female masters 70 and over, 65-69/60-64/ 55-59 / 50-54 / 45-49 / 40-44 / 35-39 / 30-34 Male masters 70 and over, 65-69/60-64/ 55-59 / 50-54 / 45-49 / 40-44 / 35-39 / 30-34 - The current UCI Mountain Bike Masters World Champion, in the respective category (if he/she is present at the World Championship) will be assigned the lowest number in this category. After that, the numbers for the lineup will be delivered to competitors based on their registration date. - The starting lineup for each group will be according to the ID plates, the lowest number is last. The first cyclist who is registered will be assigned the lowest number. - There will be a 30-second interval between cyclists, and a 3-minute interval between categories. The starting lineup must be announced 24 hours before the beginning of the race. - The “qualify” (qualification race) defines the starting lineup order for the final race of the UCI Mountain Bike Masters World Championship in the UCI Mountain Bike World Championship. Only the racers who compete in the “qualify” (qualification race) and cross the finish line within 30 minutes after the start of the race shall qualify for the finals. 4. FINAL - UCI Downhill Masters World Championship (DHI) - The maximum number of competitors allowed in the finals of the UCI Downhill Masters World Championship is 175. If this number of competitors is exceeded in any category, the Technical Marshall can decide on eliminating competitors in the “Qualify” (Qualification Race). Further details will be announced by the Technical Marshall and shall be published at least 24 hours before starting the event. - The cyclists will lineup in the opposite order, as the fastest competitor in the “qualify” (qualification race) will start the race last in the final downhill race. - Each cyclist will begin the race with an interval of at least 30 seconds. The minimum interval between categories will be 3 minutes. 5. UCI Cross Country Mountain Bike World Championship (XCO) - The number of competitors allowed in the UCI Cross Country Mountain Bike World Championship scheduled for September 14th, 15th, and 16th has been defined by the UCI as 200 in each category. If this number of competitors is exceeded in any category the Technical Marshal can make changes and shall be published at least 24 hours before starting the event. 6. Cross Country Starting Lineup - A concentration area (waiting area) shall be provided near the starting line and it is exclusively reserved for cyclists waiting for their race to start. This area shall be accessible for direct entrance and each racer must go through an inspection to inspect the identification of their bicycle. - Cyclists will be requested to arrive at the starting line 20 minutes before the race begins to allow enough time for all cyclists to enter the starting line and there must be space for warming up. The racers must go quickly to the starting line, once their presence is requested. The entrance gate to the starting line shall be closed as soon as their presence is confirmed. -The UCI Cross Country Mountain Bike World Championship racers shall be requested to arrive at the starting line 10-15 minutes before the beginning of the race. This allows enough time for the racer to get in their appropriate place. - The current UCI Masters World Mountain Bike champion will be the first cyclist to be called, if he/she is in the race. After that, the rest of the racers will be placed based on their identification plate based on their registration date. 7. Communication - There must be at least 03 bulletin boards in the racing area for displaying all bulletins, racing scores, starting lineups, and announcements posted in the UCI official language. - The official schedule and timetables are provisory. In order to assure and facilitate the event, and according to the UCI guidelines, the organizers and organizational committee reserve the right to make any necessary changes before, during the period of the World Championship, from September 11th to 16th. 8. Antidoping Control - The antidoping control during the UCI Masters World Championship shall be performed in compliance with the UCI guidelines. 9. Award Ceremony Protocol - There will be only one Award Ceremony session at the end of each race. - The award ceremony will always be performed in the same place. - All the cyclists (or the three best) shall participate in the award ceremony and must arrive at the scheduled award ceremony schedule.
