Important Information for the students
In the online admission process : There are three STREAMS
1) Science, 2) Arts, 3) Commerce
 In above streams there are two CLASSES
1) Bifocal, 2) General
 There are four TYPES under each class
1) Aided, 2) Unaided, 3)Permanent Unaided, 4)Self Financed
 There are three SETS of Junior colleges
1) Co-Ed., 2) Boys, 3) Girls
 There is more than one MEDIUM of instruction viz.
Marathi, English. Hindi, Gujarathi,Urdu etc.
FEATURES
1. A single application is required for applying online to anyone but not
more than two streams out of Arts, Science and Commerce.
2. All applications received, shall be considered for online admission
process according to the merit and the order of preferences given by
the applicants.
3. An incomplete application shall be rejected. Applicants are therefore
advised to check the online status of their application.
4. Students have to check their status Online. No sms will be sent.
ONLINE ADMISSION PROCESS
1. The online admission process for Std. XI is applicable to all recognized
junior colleges in MMR and their participation in this process is
compulsory.
2. Any student, whether from the Maharashtra state or otherwise and
having passed the examination of S.S.C. or any equivalent examination
from any recognized board, must participate in the online admission
process.
3. Admissions to Arts, Science, Commerce general streams and bifocal shall
be done online. However, admissions to MCVC, Home science, Night
Jr. &Technical Jr. Colleges shall be done by the respective colleges.
Most Important :
Although admissions to Management, Minority and In house quota
shall be done by the respective Junior Colleges, it is mandatory for these
students to complete the formalities (Part I & II ) of the Online Admission
Process in MMR, before they seek admissions through these quotas.
4. Online admission shall be done as per the constitutional and social
reservations in force.
5. Seats in junior colleges are allocated as per the merit and order of
preferences of the applicants; however, choice of optional subjects/
optional languages / bifocal subjects in a junior college is subject to
availability of seats for that optional subjects / optional languages bifocal
subjects in that junior college.
6. Processing fee of Rs. 150/- (Rs. One Hundred fifty only) – including
cost of this booklet shall be collected from the student participating in the
online admission process.
RULES FOR ADMISSION
• Students passing Std. X examination of Maharashtra State SSC
Board or an equivalent Examination with English as one of the subjects
are eligible for admissions to FYJC Classes.
• There shall be no interview or test prior to admissions to FYJC classes.
• Students who have opted for General Mathematics in Std. IX and Std.
X , are not eligible for admissions to the bifocal subjects. They are not
eligible to opt for Mathematics in any of the steams.
• At the time of applying on-line, applicants from reserved category
should produce an appropriate caste certificate issued by the
competent authority appointed by the Government of Maharashtra
failing which their applications cannot be processed in the reserved
category. Such applications by default will be processed in the open
merit category.
• If the applicant wishes to apply for a seat under a special reservation
category, then he/she should produce relevant documents/ Certificate
in original at the time of applying online.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE STUDENTS
• Junior Colleges are identified by a unique code number depending on
stream, type, set and medium of instruction as described earlier.
• A junior college may therefore be given more than one code number
depending on stream, type, set and medium of instruction.
• Applicants are advised to make a careful selection of junior colleges while
filling their order of preferences, as the fee structure for aided, unaided,
self financed divisions in the same junior college is different. They are
further advised to be careful about the medium of instruction.
• There shall be three merit lists. All the merit lists shall be prepared on the
basis of the merit category and the order of preferences of the applicant.
• There shall be only one application per applicant. Application can be for
any one but for not more than two streams. In case of application for
two streams, the applicant may give preferences in any order subject to the
condition that at least one preference should be for each stream selected.
• Applicants are required to give their preferences in three parts as :
a) In the first part, minimum 15 but not more than 30 preferences
from the entire MMR must be given.
b) In the second part, applicant is required to select any one zone. From
the zone selected, minimum 15 but not more than 20 preferences must
be given excluding the preferences already made in ‘a)’ above.
c) In the third part, applicant is required to select any two wards/sectors
from the zone selected above. From these wards/sectors selected,
applicant is required to give minimum 5 but not more than 10
preferences of junior colleges attached to schools excluding the
preferences already made in ‘a) & b) above.
• Applicants residing within MMR, passing std.X from Maharashtra State
SSC board, applying through open merit category, can ‘SUBMIT’ their
applications ‘ONLINE’ from home, from their respective schools or
anywhere.
• Applicants residing within MMR, passing std.X from Maharashtra State
SSC board & claiming reservations are required to ‘SUBMIT’ their
applications ‘ONLINE’ through the Heads of their respective schools.
• All the applicants residing within MMR, passing std. X from other
than Maharashtra State SSC board, Mumbai Division, must
‘SUBMIT’ their applications ‘ONLINE’ through the Heads of their
respective schools.
• All the applicants from outside MMR, passing std. X from any
board, must ‘SUBMIT’ their application ‘ONLINE’ through any
guidance centres.
• Students who have passed Std. X examination from any board in
more than one attempt must enter sum total of marks scored in
the subjects in which they have passed from time to time.
Note : Preferences will start from MMR →Zone →Ward/Sector
• Applicants whose name appear in the merit list of a particular
junior college must secure admission in that junior college within
the period allotted, failing which they will have no claim in that
junior college, and will be dropped from the process of online
admissions.
• It is pertinent to note that maximum one betterment option may be
given. Betterment option will be in the ascending order of preferences.
It will be offered subject to merit & vacancy and only to those
applicants who have secured admission in the junior colleges allotted to
them in the previous merit list. Please note that, if the applicant does
not accept betterment option, no more options will be given
subsequently.
• Admissions allocated through all the merit lists are subject to verification
of various claims made by the applicant. Any information provided/
claim made by the applicant found to be false/untrue/incorrect
/inconsistent/not supported by proper documents, will result in
cancellation of admission.
• While selecting junior colleges in the order of preference, applicants are
advised to consider the previous year’s cut off percentage (category
wise) for the respective junior colleges. This may help them getting a
placement in a junior college appropriate to their merit.
However, please note that , the information regarding previous year’s
cut off percentage is merely a guideline provided for making
selection of junior colleges easier, and their is no guarantee of admission
to that college.
• Applicants are advised to take a system generated printout (not a
screen shot) of their ‘SUBMITTED’ application.
• If applicants realize of any error/discrepancy in the ‘SUBMITTED’
applications; they are advised to approach the nearest guidance centre.
After making necessary changes & resubmission, a latest system
generated printout of the application must be taken in such cases.
• As an additional facility applicants may receive an acknowledgement of
their ‘ONLINE’ applications via SMS on the mobile numbers they
have indicated in their applications. However they must check the
status of their ‘ONLINE’ applications on the website :


FEES
(1) In an aided junior college, the tution fee and other fees will be charged
according to the rates prescribed by the government. (Page 35 Booklet)
(2) Separate fees will be charged for unaided divisions in aided junior
colleges. Hence different divisions will have different fee structure in the
same junior college.
(3) For unaided, permanent unaided and self financed divisions the fee
structure is different in different Junior Colleges. Applicants are
therefore requested to check the fees mentioned in this booklet against
each Junior College
(4) Vide G.R.NoFED/1084/(2568)/SASHI-2 Education and employment
Department, Mantralaya Extension, Mumbai-32 dated 6th March 1986,
Girl students studying in govt. recognized aided institutions are entitled
for free education up to std. XII.

Students should possess any one of the following certificates
(obtained only while studying in stds. VIII, IX, X)
(a) Certificate showing that the student has secured first or second rank at the
District / State/National level .
(b) Certificate showing that the student has won medal(s) at the zonal level
or Certificate showing that the student has participated in the National/State
level competitions organized by the Indian Schools Games Association or
Indian Games Authority.
(c) Certificate showing that the student has won medal(s) at the State level or
Certificate showing that the student has participated in the National/State
level competitions organized by Indian Olympic Association or Maharashtra
Olympic Association.
These certificate should be authenticated by the District Sports
Officer or Regional Deputy Director (Sports), in the prescribed
form given in the booklet (11 Online) on page no. 13.

3] Wards of transferred state/Central Government and Private
sector employees:
The certificate showing transfer of the employee on or after 1st Oct
of earlier year and joining certificate. The ward seeking admission must not have
pass examination of Std. X of SSC or equivalent from MMR.

4] Wards of Servicemen and Ex-service men :
(i)For servicemen : Service Certificate
(ii)For Ex-Servicemen: : Discharge Certificate or , Certificate issued by
District Sainik Board and copy of Identity card
5] Wards of freedom fighters :
The students who are dependent on the freedom fighter and so nominated by the
freedom fighter must submit a certificate issued by the Dist. Collector to that effect.

6] Handicapped :
Certificate showing atleast 40 % disability, issued by the Civil Surgeon or by the Medical
Officer of any Government / Municipal hospital. Students having learning Disability
must produce a certificate from the competent authority.
Admission Procedure:
Procedure to be followed after a student’s name appears in
the merit list :
 Students whose names appear in the merit list of a specific Junior
College, should fill up the admission form of that college, attach
required original certificates and their Xerox copies, pay Rs.50/(Rupees Fifty only) and take provisional admission to that college,
within the stipulated days and time for that merit list.
 Upon Securing admission in the allotted college, the applicant shall
receive system generated ‘ Admission Confirmation Letter’ from the
respective Junior College immediately or within one working day.
 Important : Students securing admissions through Management quota,
Minority quota & In-house quota should also obtain a system generated ‘
Admission Confirmation Letter’ from that Junior College.
 The names of such students who have been admitted according to
merit & preference will remain in the Online Admission Process
and these students will be eligible for an opportunity to be admitted
to a Junior College which appears at higher preferential order in the
option form, subject to availability of seats in subsequent merit lists.
 A candidate offered betterment in a subsequent merit list may accept
the same. However such candidates must first cancel the admission
from the previous junior college approach the new junior college for
completing all the admission formalities.
 Please note that candidate’s admission to the new junior college is
subject to verification of all the documents by the admitting authority
of the new junior college. Any document/claim found to be not valid
at this stage will result in denial of admission in that junior college.
 Upon cancellation of admission form a Junior college, the applicant
shall ‘immediately’ receive a system generated ‘ Admission
Cancellation Letter’ from the respective Junior College.
 Important :
• Applicants from ICSE, CBSE, IGCSE, IB and other State Board
are required to get their original School Leaving Certificates
endorsed
overleaf
by
the
concerned
Education
Inspector/Education officer of the area. For more details they
should contact the Heads of their respective School.
• For applicants passing from other than Maharashtra State SSC
Board, an application for eligibility (respective college office) is
to be submitted along with necessary documents as described in
the application.
• Candidates whose names appear in any of he Merit Lists but who
have already secured admissions through any one of he
Management, Minority or In-house quota should cancel their
admission from that quota, obtain the ‘Admission Cancellation
Letter’ and approach the Junior College allocated to them in the
‘Online Merit List’ with all the documents for completing
admission formalities in that Junior College as described above.
