Values Newsletter April 2017

Madley Brook CP School
Values Newsletter
Dear Parents / Carers,
In school we have just finished talking about the
Value….
We have focussed hard on positivity and
perseverance this week and many children were
chosen for the Celebration Bench for showing this
Value.
Honesty
The children have listened to stories with an
Honesty theme. Some of the older children
completed some role play activities and discussed
various scenarios, thinking carefully about what they
would do in certain situations and how honest they
think they are.
We have just introduced the Value….
positivity &
perseverance
We will be learning about keeping going no
matter what the challenge. During this term
many of the children across the school will face
the challenges of SATs or trying new challenges in
learning or on their trip to Grendon Hall. We will
encourage them to have a positive attitude and
keep going despite how challenging things
become.
We asked
think about
are….
the children to
whether they
Most of them thought that they were quite
positive but when shown how people give up and
are disheartened during tricky learning
(Demonstrated through excellent acting by Mrs
Bradbury and Mr Curtis) they could see
themselves.
If your child shows positivity and perseverance at
home then please email pictures and information
to [email protected] and we
can talk about and display this in school.
Children’s Values Champion
Last week Lime Class became the first class to
nominate each other to become ‘Children’s
Values Champion’. Each week a class will have
the special Values post box. They can nominate
each other for showing one of our 8 values. These
nominations are posted in to the post box and
Mrs Spencer picks one out during our Celebration
Assembly. The lucky child will have their name
written on to the post box and their nomination
displayed in the hall. The other nominations are
put in to a little booklet and returned to the class
so that they can read their nominations. Our first
Children’s Values Champion was Zoe Corvin who
was nominated for showing caring. Well done
Zoe!
