Theory
Evolutionary models of
stellar systems suggest
that <Mbol> of CS does not
depend on the metallicity.

Powerful standard candles:
 brighter than Cepheids;
 single epoch of observation;
 reduced absorption (NIR);
 brighter than the TRGB.
