WORLD SERVICES FOR THE BLIND Things to Bring Insurance information/card $5.00 refundable deposit to obtain your room key (required) Thumb drive A minimum one-week supply of clothing (pack as light or as heavy as desired; include clothing for various temperatures) Dress clothing (optional for social, faith-based activities) Clothes appropriate for an interview if considering vocational training Comfortable walking shoes Water bottle for drinks other than during meal times in the cafeteria Twin bed sheets/pillow/pillow cases Blankets (whatever makes you most comfortable) Towels, wash cloths, laundry detergent and a laundry bag Alarm clock Toiletries: Soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair care products, deodorant, shaving equipment, cosmetics, shoe polish, etc. 30-day supply of all prescribed medications and supplies Cane and small, portable low-vision devices If a guide dog user: grooming and feeding supplies YOU MAY WISH TO BRING: Bathmat One unit sound system, a small CD player, MP3 player, or a small, portable musical instrument (you will have a desk for your use, computer/laptop capable) Braille writer Laptop The first Wednesday you are on our campus, you will have a guaranteed spot on the Wal-Mart trip. This will allow you the opportunity to acquire personal items and toiletries that you may not have been able to travel with. This trip is open to all clients each Wednesday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis.
