Why WASC Certification?
 2002 – UC/CSU Policy - requirement of WASCaccreditation to establish and/or maintain “a-g”
courses on high school transcripts
 WASC/CDE process serves as the basis for the
Single Plan for Student Achievement
 Required for Cal Grants (financial aid)
 Military recruiter expectations
 Teacher – credits for years-of-service at nonaccredited schools not recognized by many
schools/districts nationwide
