SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
8:30 – 10:45 ~ Individual Events (8 minutes at each station)
10:50 – 11:20 ~ Tug of War (Homeroom vs. Homeroom)
11:25 – 12:00 ~ Lunch (in your classrooms or outside)
12:00 – 1:15 ~ Basketball Tournament (Homeroom vs. Homeroom)
1:20 – 2:30 ~ Volleyball Tournament (Homeroom vs. Homeroom)
2:30 ~ Back to Classrooms
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
8:30- 10:45
• Individual Events will not be scored. They are just for fun. Every student should be able to
participate in every event (except for Hot Shot) as long as you move quickly from station
to station and go over the games with your students ahead of time.
• Go ahead and divide your homeroom into 4 teams (A, B, C, and D) that will compete
against each other at each event. If a team(s) has an odd number of students, designate
someone to go twice. Having your students divided in advance will allow you to start
playing your game as soon as you get to your station.
• For events that take PARTNERS, go ahead and have your students pick partners within
their teams. If you have an odd number on a team, designate someone to go twice.
• Rotate to your next station when you hear the bullhorn. Station 1, goes to Station 2,
etc.. All the way to Station 15…Station 15, goes to Station 1, then 2, etc..
• Map attached with your teacher packets.
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
• Station 1 ~ Beach Ball Worm
• Supplies: Beach Balls (lots of beach balls)
• Team A, B, C, and D line up side by side.
• First kid runs down, grabs a beach ball, runs back to line and “picks” up
a person, putting beach ball between them (back to back or back to
front, their choice). Now there are 2 of them and 1 ball between them.
They run down, get a ball (hands are okay to pick up a ball), run back,
“pick up” another person (now there are 3 kids and 2 balls squeezed
between them), and run down. Race continues until all balls are used
for that team. If they drop the ball(s), they pick it up and keep going.

• Station 1 ~ Beach Ball Worm (continued)
• Teacher Responsibility ~ Supervise and keep
students safe. Remind students not to use their
hands except to pick up a new ball.
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
• Station 2 ~ Volleyball Practice (soccer field)
to prepare for afternoon tournament
• Supplies: Volleyball
• Teacher Responsibility: Encourage students
to use this time to get ready for the
tournament.
• Keep students safe. No overhand serves or
spiking the ball.
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
• Station 3 ~ Sponge Race
• Supplies: 4 buckets with water, 4 empty buckets,
4 sponges
• Team A, B, C, and D line up side by side.
• Buckets are filled with water. Students soak sponge in water, run to end and
squeeze the water in an empty bucket, and run back, handing sponge to next
person. Next person soaks the sponge in water, run to end and squeeze water in
bucket, etc. Team with most water in bucket when everyone has gone is the
winner.
• Field Day helpers will refill the buckets.

• Station 4 ~ Egg Race
• Supplies: 8 spoons, 8 plastic eggs
• Team A, B, C, and D line up side by side.
• Students put a plastic egg in a spoon and run down and back. If they
drop it, they pick it up and keep going.
• Teacher Responsibility: Supervise students with plastic eggs 
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
• Station 5 ~ Beach Ball Race
• Supplies: 4 beach balls
• Team A, B, C, and D line up side by side.
• Students put beach ball between knees/thighs
and race down and back. If they drop the ball,
they pick it up and keep going. They can jump,
hop, walk, run…
• Teacher Responsibility: Remind students to not use their hands.

• Station 6 ~ Inflatable Slide (socks required)
• Teacher Responsibility: Stand at entrance
and only allow 2 students in the slide at a
time. Keep them from getting too rough.
• Remind students to pick up their elbows
when they slide. Ouch!!
• Band-aids at each water station.
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
• Station 7 ~ Hot Shot Basketball (in gym)
• Supplies: Basketballs
• 12 students may participate (2 sets of 6).
• 1 minute Hot Shot shooting contest.
• Field Day helpers will run the contest.

• Station 8 ~ Plunger Pass
• PARTNER EVENT
• Supplies: 8 plungers, 4 balls
• Team A, B, C, and D in line
side by side with PARTNERS.
• Kids pass/throw ball back and forth between plungers as many times
as possible while running down. If they drop the ball, pick it up, and
keep going. Hand plungers to next 2 kids in line.
• If there is an odd number, have someone go twice.

• Station 9 ~ 3-Legged Race
• PARTNER EVENT
• Supplies: 8 bandanas
• Team A, B, C, and D in line
side by side with PARTNERS.
• Partners tie their ankles together with bandanas and run down and back. Next two
partners run down to start, etc.
• If there is an odd number, have someone go twice.
• Teacher Responsibility: Help kids tie the bandanas around their ankles. Have pair of
students tied and ready to go when it’s their turn.

• Station 10 ~ Single Sack Race
• Supplies: 8 sacks
• Team A,B,C, and D line up side by side.
• Kids race down and back.
• Teacher Responsibility: Help kids be in
sacks and ready to go when it’s their turn.

• Station 11 ~ Inflatable Slide (socks required)
• Teacher Responsibility: Stand at entrance
and allow only 2 students on the slide at a

• Station 12 ~ Dizzy Bat Spin
• Supplies: 4 baseball bats
• Team A, B, C, and D line up side by side.
• Kids run down, put their forehead on the
end of the bat, spin around 5 times, and run
back to their line.
• Teacher Responsibility: Make sure kids are spinning around 5 times.
Then laugh.
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
• Station 13 ~ Pizza Box Race
• Supplies: 40 empty pizza boxes (stacks of 10)
• Team A, B, C, and D line up side by side.
• There’s a stack of 10 pizza boxes at end
of each line. Kid runs down, grabs a
box, runs back and hands it next person
in line. Kid #2 runs down holding box,
grabs another box (now has 2 boxes),
runs back and hands them to next person
in line. Kid #3 runs down with 2 boxes, grabs a box (now has 3 boxes), etc.
• Teacher responsibility: Help stack boxes (10 per line) at beginning of race.

• Station 14 ~ Double Sack Race
• PARTNER EVENT
• Supplies: 8 Double Sacks
• Team A, B, C, and D line up side by side
with PARTNERS.
• Partners get in the sack and race down and back.
Next pair goes, etc. If there is an odd number, have someone go twice.
• Teacher Responsibility: Supervise kids and keep them safe. Keep them
from getting too rough, going too fast, hurting themselves…

• Station 15 ~ Inflatable Obstacle Course
(socks required)
• Teacher Responsibility: Stand at entrance
and allow only 2 students in the obstacle
course at a time. Surely by now they know
to pick up their elbows when they slide. Burn!!
• Band-aids at each water station.
What do we need you to do for INDIVIDUAL
EVENTS to be a success?
• Go ahead and divide your class into Team A, B, C, and D. Explain to them
this will be their teams for all of the individual events.
• Go ahead and divide your teams into PARTNERS (within Team A, B, C, and
D.)
• Go over each event with your class ahead of time. Explain each one,
especially the uncommon games. If they have a clear idea of what they’re
doing, it will save time and make it more fun for them. You only have 8
MINUTES at each station (includes transition time!) If you have to spend
time explaining the game, it will eat into your play time!
• Individual Events will not be scored. You will not turn in scores to the
coaches.
• Have 12 students sign up for Basketball Hot Shot.
What do we need you to do for INDIVIDUAL
EVENTS to be a success?
• Remind your students to have socks for the inflatables.
• Tell your students they can bring individual water bottles to refill
throughout the day. We’ll have 3 water stations set up around
campus (not part of the event rotation), with cups provided, that they
can visit when they are near.
• Please keep your students in your sight and in your supervision at all
times. We need you to monitor them and help keep them safe and in
control.
• When you hear the bull horns, please move quickly to your next
station. You can begin your event as soon as you get there and get
set up.
TUG OF WAR!
10:50 – 11:20
On the Soccer Field
• Homerooms will tug against homerooms in a tournament format.
• 12 students per homeroom can participate (girls or boys, your
choice). Decide ahead of time who will participate (with a couple of
subs) and have a list ready for that day.
• Sit as a homeroom holding your homeroom’s sign in the air so we can
find you when it’s your turn.
• Keep your students together so you are ready to tug when we call
your class.
LUNCH!!
11:25 – 12:00
• Lunch is in your classrooms. You have the option to eat outside while
supervising your students.
• Students can bring a sack lunch or can buy
lunch from the cafeteria, but they will not be
eating in the cafeteria.
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
12:00 – 1:15
• Homerooms will play against homerooms in a
tournament format.
• Girls in homeroom will play against girls, boys
against boys, at the same time. (For example, Anderson girls against
Whittaker girls at one end of court; Anderson boys against Whittaker
boys at other end.)
• Teams of 5 with 2 substitutes (7 total per team).
• Homerooms not playing will sit in the bleachers and watch the games
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
12:00 – 1:15
• Teacher Responsibility: Monitor your students
sitting in the bleachers. They will ask to go to the
bathroom and/or get water.
• Teamwork: If you need to use the restroom, have
another teacher cover for you. Students not playing
should be seated in the bleachers at all times.
• Go ahead and have 7 boys and 7 girls sign up to
play (5 players, 2 subs per team).
VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
1:20 – 2:30
• Homerooms will play against homerooms in a
tournament format (single elimination).
• Teams will consist of 9 players and must have at
least 2 girls and 2 boys on the court at all times.
• 9 players on the court with 3 substitutes (12 students total).
• 4 homerooms on the court playing at one time
(2 on one end, 2 on the other end).
What do we need you to do for VOLLEYBALL
TOURNAMENT to be a success?
• (9 to start out and 3 subs). Go ahead and have 12 students sign up to
play
• Homerooms not playing will sit in the bleachers and watch the games.
• Teacher Responsibility: Monitor your students
sitting in the bleachers. They will ask to go to the
bathroom and/or get water.
• Teamwork: If you need to use the restroom, have
another teacher cover for you. Students not playing
should be seated in the bleachers at all times.
DRESS CODE
• Students should wear their SFMS P.E. shorts and their class t-shirts.
• Students should wear closed-toe shoes (tennis shoes are best.) No
flip flops or sandals.
• They need socks for the inflatables.
WHAT’S ALLOWED/NOT ALLOWED?
• Cameras/phones are not allowed. They should
stay in their locker the whole day (per admin).
• Parents/spectators are not allowed
(per admin).
