FOOD PANTRIES BY COUNTY

Andrew and Buchanan County food pantries require a FOOD PANTRY CARD. For Buchanan County residents, you can obtain
the card at Second Harvest Community Food Bank at the Fresh Start Market, 915 Douglas, St Joseph, from 11:00am – 1:00pm,
Monday – Friday. For Andrew County residents, you can obtain the card at Community Action Partnership, 410 W Market,
Savannah, between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday – Friday (closed for lunch 11:15am – 12:15pm). You will need to provide the
following items: proof of identity, proof of residency, proof of personal and household income, and social security cards and
birthdates for all household members. One card will be issued per household. The card must be presented when you request a
food order and will be punched if you receive monthly commodities. There is no cost for the card. The card is authorized for a
period of one year after which you will need to obtain a new card. Lost or stolen cards must be reported immediately to
Second Harvest Community Food Bank, 364-3663 or CAP (Andrew Co), 324-3473. One replacement card can be issued in a six
month period. There will be a $5.00 fee for replacement cards (Andrew County only).
You may go to only one food pantry each month, except Fresh Start, Your Community Market (see below). If an emergency
arises, exceptions will be made. Contact your regular food pantry and they will make the decision to assist or refer you to one
that can help. You can receive government commodities only one time a month. This is a Missouri law. You can only receive
commodities from a pantry in the county where you reside.

Community Food Bank at the Fresh Start Market. You must meet USDA income guidelines to receive commodities and a card. Andrew
