Cashmere Youth Baseball Association PO Box 113, Cashmere, WA 98815 2017 Information It is the goal of the Cashmere Youth Baseball Association to provide a quality youth baseball program for Cashmere. It is our fundamental belief that every child with a desire to play baseball be provided that opportunity. It is our principal goal to see that each player is provided a baseball experience that is fun improves their skills and gives them a good feeling about themselves and their teammates. Winning is not the number one priority of this program. The focus of CYBA lies in the personal development of boys and girls ages 5-12. The emphasis is on keeping the game fun. In the spirit of continuous program improvement, the age groups for each level closely resemble the Cal Ripkin guidelines. Ten through twelve year olds can try out for Majors and nine through eleven year olds can try out for Minors (eight year olds can try out for Minors if they feel their skill level is adequate to perform at the minor level). Nine to twelve year olds (and some eights) will get a chance to demonstrate their skills in a try-out. The intent of the try-out is to help determine the appropriate leagueMajor or Minor (or Rookie for eight year olds who aren’t drafted onto a Minor team) and to draft balanced and appropriate skilled teams. Everyone who signs up will make a team. We welcome all players at all skills levels to participate and have fun.
