Dear School Owners, Instructors and Students,
The California Cosmetology Association is putting on two new and
exciting competitions at the Barristar Beauty School Forum in
Anaheim. Since this is a Political year we thought it would be fun
and different. We would like you take charge and show others what
you can do. Compete, Shine and Win! Come show your talent and
be part of the excitement.

GENERAL COMPETITION RULES
1.
Student competition is open to all current students with proof of enrollment and hours.
2.
All contestants must be registered at their allotted time.
3.
There must be at least 10 entries to receive any cash prize money. Any competition with less
than 5 entries may be canceled at the discretion of the competition committee.

All competitors must sign a California Cosmetology Association Release Form.

It is the responsibility of each competitor to furnish their model, tools, supplies, etc at their own

Competitors and models may not leave the competition area after the competition has begun
and may only be excused by the competition chairman. Anyone found leaving the area without
permission will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS.
7.
Competitors are not allowed or permitted to touch their models after they have been seated in
the competition area until the competition chairman directs them.
8.
If there is coaching by anyone in the audience to any competitor, the competition chairman will
deduct points from the competitors score.
9.
Flash photography is not allowed during the competition.
10.
The competition chairman and the sages will constitute the committee of sages. Should there be
an infraction of the rules by any competitor, or if in the opinion of the competition committee that the
infraction should be penalized, the competition chairman may assess penalties of 1, 2 or 3 points per
jury members depending on the severity of the infraction. These penalties shall be designed on the
sage’s score card by the sages and turned into the tally committee. Judges shall be made aware of any
infraction of the rules.
11. All competitors must be at least (16) years of age and sign a model release form.
The release allows the show management and California Cosmetology Association to
use your photo for industry and non-industry publications and promotion of this and
other events.
12. All decision of the judges will be final. The judge’s tally sheet will be available for
the competitors after the award ceremonies.
STUDENT FANTASY THEME
'Patriotic'

Specific Rules:

1. The category is “Fantasy” the theme is “Patriotic” female only.
2. Bring photo of your inspiration'
3. One and half 1.5 hours will be allowed to complete all three phases:
Hair, Nails and Makeup
4. Model shall be dressed in there attire. Absolutely no nudity.
5. Nails if sculptured or tips used may be done before the contest. One hand
will be painted leaving the other to be done is the allotted time.
6. Model will come with a clean face. Makeup is to be applied in the
allotted time.
7. Theme hair will be set and must be combed out by one team
member. Any method of setting is allowed However, all hair must be
combed. It is to be completed in the alloyed time. (there are no electrical outlets).
8. Ornamentation may be used but not to cover more than one quarter ¼
of the competed hairstyle.
9. Hair piece may not cover more than on tired 1/3 of the skull area.
