FHS Morning Announcements March 22, 2017 Today is a “B” Day! TODAY'S MEETINGS/EVENTS/DEADLINES MARCH IS YOUTH ART MONTH – did you know that teaching students to be creative is a deliberate process, much like teaching reading or math? April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month, and in an effort to help out our local animals, Volunteer Fauquier is sponsoring a pet drive beginning the last weeks of March and running through the whole month of April. Please bring pet food, pet treats, pet toys, litter, paper towels and other cleaning supplies to our donation drop-off location in the main lobby. All donations will benefit our local no-kill shelter, Middleburg Humane Foundation. Your donations can help save animal lives! Attention Students: There are now less than 300 yearbooks left to be sold. We are on pace to sell out even earlier than we did last year, so get yours soon. Seniors: Please be sure to check out the many scholarships available to you in guidance. Be sure to keep an eye on the date scholarships are due. A few deadlines are approaching. Any scholarships due to guidance must be in by 7:30 the morning of the due date. Any Student interested in knowing about the Naval Academy see Mr. Hackney immediately. MEETINGS/EVENTS/DEADLINES FCCLA and Nutrition and Wellness students care about your nutrition! Tomorrow, look for us in the cafeteria with samples of fruits and vegetables for you try. We all need to get 5 fruits and vegetables each day. So strive for 5 each and every day! Students participating in the sampling by filling out a short survey, have a chance to win a healthy banana split during lunch on Friday. Calling all poetry lovers. This Thursday, in the library during homeroom, is Open Mic Poetry. Come by the library to pick up your pass. All are welcome. See you on Thursday during homeroom for Open Mic Poetry. Attention Wizards fans! Join FBLA and DECA for the Wizards game this Friday, March 24. We will head to the Verizon Center at 1:30 on a charter bus, catch a Sports Business Seminar by the Wizards management team, watch warm-ups and the game begins at 7:00 pm. Your $60 ticket also includes a $10 concessions voucher and a t-shirt. See Mrs. Chipman in room 609 for details and permission forms. MARCH IS YOUTH ART MONTH.
