Take Me Out To The Ball Game on May 21st!!
Alice Smith students will have the chance once again to sing our National
Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner," at the Minnesota Twins baseball game
against the Kansas City Royals on Sunday afternoon, May 21st at 1:00 pm at
Target Field!
Each season, a handful of elementary schools are given the chance to go on
the field and lead the crowd in singing the National Anthem before a game.
We did such a great job last year that we’ve been asked to sing again this
spring! While all Alice Smith students and their families are encouraged to
attend, only students in 3rd grade and up will be allowed to sing on the field.
Parents and younger siblings will wait in the stands while we sing, and
everyone can stay and enjoy the game (and then all kids can run the bases
after the game). Families will be responsible for their own transportation to
and from Target Field as well as for purchasing tickets. Tickets will cost $11.00
each and our seats will be in the “Home Plate View” section (upper deck
behind home plate, regular price $24.00 each).
If you would like to join us at the Twins game and have your children sing the
National Anthem on the field, fill out the order form on the back of this sheet
and RETURN IT TO YOUR CLASSROOM TEACHER NO LATER THAN FRIDAY,
APRIL 21st. You must include payment for your tickets (checks payable to The
Minnesota Twins) with your order form. Please write “Alice Smith Elementary”
on the memo of your check.
Please remember that all students must be accompanied by an adult at the
game. Students can NOT attend the game by themselves.
