This document will serve as a guide for the information we have available for you to have a
quality experience at the 2011 SONC Winter Games – Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding. We realize
that there is a long list of documents available on our Web site so this document includes links
to those documents to make navigation easier. Simply hold the CTRL key and click on any text
in blue to access these links. Many of the documents are standard for each state-level event.
You may not need to read all of this information because you are already familiar with it, but you
are responsible for knowing it!

General Policies & Procedures
Make sure you are familiar with SONC’s policies about medical transports, use of 15-passenger
vans, smoking & alcohol, etc. You are responsible for being familiar with and helping to enforce
these policies.

codes of conduct, etc. Information regarding sport rules committees is also available online.

Only the head of delegation and/or one coach should come to Head of Delegation
Check-In area to prevent congestion. Please direct the rest of the delegation to
the equipment area.

Confirm possession of all athlete participation forms.

Pick up arrival envelope containing welcome information and all credentials
for the delegation.
Confirm that you have all credentials at that time.
Proceed to the coaches’ meeting.

Competition Information
Coaches’ Meeting
We have made attendance by every coach from each local program at the coaches’ meeting
mandatory. Valuable information and updates are provided during these meetings. If a coach
does not attend, that program is subject to penalty, including losing the ability to protest for the
duration of the Games.
Mandatory Coaches’ Meeting
12:00 or 12:30pm in the Snow Cloud Room
If a representative is unable to attend the meeting due to circumstances beyond their control,
please contact one of the people listed on the front of this packet.
Sports Notes & Winter Games Rules of Competition
These documents contain all competition reminders and guidelines. Make sure all coaches and
athletes are familiar with this information!
Please review the special notice from Appalachian Ski Mountain.
Please also review the Coaches List to ensure that ski/snowboard packages have been
arranged for the correct individuals.
Opening Ceremonies & Dance
Opening Ceremonies will be held at the Meadowbrook Inn at 7:30pm Sunday night after dinner.
The dance will immediately follow at 8pm. Please review the reminders for these special
events.
