LET THE GAMES BEGIN Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary Annaliza
Rebuelta-Teh, assisted by DENR Employees Union officer Alvin Legaspi, lights the cauldron at
the opening rites of the DENR 2012 Sportsfest held last April 23 at the DENR compound in
Quezon City, signifying the start of the 19-day affair anchored on the theme “Yamang Dagat ay
nagbibigay Kalusugan, Kalakasan , Karununugan at Kayamanan.” At least 1,000 DENR
athletes will compete in the 19-day affair, which runs until June 11, where 10 events are lined
up consisting of basketball, bowling, badminton, cycling, table tennis, volleyball, darts, chess,
