MÉTODOS DE INVESTIGACIÓN – GRUPO 1
GRUPO 2: “SOCIEDAD DE LA INFORMACIÓN”
TALLER #1
instituciones pertenecen?
Constantine Stephanidis (Institute of Computer Science, Foundation for
Research and Technology -- Hellas Department of Computer Science,
University of Crete, Greece), Frank Webster
formato bibtex.

abstract = {For some twenty years now, the world of information,
communications
and publishing has been preparing itself for a new era-an era of
technological advances, where the wildest dreams can come true. One
of these dreams is to obtain reliable, collated and relevant information
as fast as possible at an acceptable cost; or, even better, to provide
it free to all those who need it. Although some of these dreams are
becoming reality-at least in part-the change involved are having
a profoundly disconcerting effect on professionals and users alike.
The traditional professions of the information world-librarians,
information scientists, publishers and computer specialists-not only
have to redefine the scope of their work but also to adapt to new
techniques and new tools. User behaviour and demands are changing
and, compounding the problem, the economic situation of all the players
involved is getting worse. This article examines what has actually
happened over the past two decades: to pinpoint the pros and cons,
the realities and possibilities which new technologies represent;
and to try and see what services they can offer to the most important
player in the game-the user},

abstract = {The article discusses the continuing development of information
technology
and the increasing importance of human interaction with these systems.
The computer workstation has been proud of occupying the center of
the desk in the office and other work places. In the near future,
such a computer will be pocket size or wrist mountable and the
associated
display will be mountable on the head like an eye glass. With such
predictions in mind, we have to think of information technology as
tightly involved in the daily life of the people. Small computers
will be installed in furniture and walls, ceiling and floor and in
cooking and household machines as well as mobile phone, and AV
machines.
They should be linked together by wireless communication, and could
be accessed by every body at home and outside. In order to assure
free and flexible access, family members, including pets and plants
will have addresses. Sensors, transmitters and mobile communication
tools will be especially useful to people with special needs. The
needs are not only physical or psychological; in the information
age, inability to manipulate information will be most serious. Careful
studies are necessary so that new information technology will prevent
the production of new types of disability. The use of interfaces
will become more and more easy. People or terminals in need of help
normally will not have to send out commands or messages. The
environment
will have to monitor their state, find out their situation, and decide
which help service would be needed},

abstract = {Realising the potential of the Information Society requires an
adequate
broadband infrastructure, a sine qua non condition for usage. In
many countries, the broadband offer’s geographical coverage strongly
depends on ADSL expansion. Thus, it seems important to know the
variables
conditioning the deployment of its commercial offer.
The descriptive analysis made in the Community of Madrid points out
that the “size” variable of the municipality (be it measured in number
of inhabitants, households, telephone lines or economic activity
units) conditions the arrival of ADSL. The discriminant analysis
confirms this result although it also shows how other variables affect
the different deployment stages.},

focuses on variables such as customers' ownership of diverse financial

Internet as a channel for financial operations exert significant
influence on Europeans' use of the Internet for banking transactions.},
