Moscone catering took the problem very seriously while onsite, but was unable to verify the source or the validity of the claims. · Vendors General Service Contractors - GES Production Companies – ETS AudioVisual Security – Maloney Security City Report Safety and Security Moscone reached out to use approx. a month before move-in to make us aware of increased theft activity both at Moscone and at surrounding hotels. UBM worked with Maloney to increase security presence at our event, yet still we had an unprecedented number of theft incidents. During the week of GDC we had a dozen thefts. Incidents ranged from: o Macbook swiped off an attendees’ table in concession area o Plasma TVs stolen (in boxes still) from the expo hall during move-in o Recording cameras stolen out of session rooms o Laptops stolen out of session rooms o Pallet of floral stolen out of expo floor · Moscone’s security cameras were useless. Several were broken, or inoperable at the time of the incidents. The reviewing of the security tapes took days, as they appeared to be unable to fwd to a particular period of time. Areas for improvement: Focus on area(s) such as people, products, services, experiences, infrastructure etc. which could be improved and would make a material improvement to the San Francisco meeting experience. Security – see above Advertisements within Moscone (along the lower corridor between North and South Halls) for Gentleman’s clubs. UBM has adopted a “Code of Conduct” at all of our events, that bans and graphics that overly objectify woman or could be deemed offensive. We had multiple complaints both from GDC management and GDC attendees that the advertisements were not in line with our Code of Conduct. However per Moscone mgmt., we were unable to take the adverts down or cover them up.
