HIGHLIGHTS
Patterson
With positive contested football we matched it with Scotch for half the game. In fact, we had more
shots on goal and forward entries for the day. Imagine we kicked 10 goals 6 points! A
disappointing 3rd Quarter saw us 3 goals down, needing a lot of work in the last quarter. We
controlled most of the footy, and finally got the first goal of the last quarter. Unfortunately we gave
a goal straight back with undisciplined work in the centre bounce with too many in the square. We
lost the momentum. We had to work hard for our goals all day, and simply did not put enough
pressure on Scotch with their transition ball movement. This week we were more talented
physically and had better skills. We were outplayed mentally and couldn’t maintain our
concentration with rotations and finding our direct opponent. For the next 2 weeks we will work on
a simpler rotation process and limit the numbers at training to 25 to focus on our skills and work
output. I wonder how much emphasis each individual puts on their training output. This week we
played how we trained….6/10.

GAME
 Running out of superlatives to describe these boys, another
HIGHLIGHTS fantastic result – most impressive was the multiple goal
scorers – highlighting the team effort and style of football
we are playing.
 Missing top goal scorer Inuali to the A’s and Second Top
Scorer Adam to injury, the way in which the entire team
lifted to improve performance as a whole was impressive.
 The way in which the boys were able to process and adapt
to a new challenge (a team with 10 men behind the ball)
was pleasing as it again showed their ability to not only
deal with challenging situations, but implement this on the
fly through instruction – showing maturity well beyond
their age.
