BEST PLAYERS Hipwell, Segar, McConnon, Galanopoulos, Caruso, Langdon, Sweet, Wood, Fisher, GAME HIGHLIGHTS Patterson With positive contested football we matched it with Scotch for half the game. In fact, we had more shots on goal and forward entries for the day. Imagine we kicked 10 goals 6 points! A disappointing 3rd Quarter saw us 3 goals down, needing a lot of work in the last quarter. We controlled most of the footy, and finally got the first goal of the last quarter. Unfortunately we gave a goal straight back with undisciplined work in the centre bounce with too many in the square. We lost the momentum. We had to work hard for our goals all day, and simply did not put enough pressure on Scotch with their transition ball movement. This week we were more talented physically and had better skills. We were outplayed mentally and couldn’t maintain our concentration with rotations and finding our direct opponent. For the next 2 weeks we will work on a simpler rotation process and limit the numbers at training to 25 to focus on our skills and work output. I wonder how much emphasis each individual puts on their training output. This week we played how we trained….6/10. 8B BGS 4 def by Scotch 86 7A BGS 4 def by Scotch 40 7B BGS 60 def GC 40 SOCCER 8A BGS def by St Kevins 4-1 GOAL SCORERS: Hamish Gee BEST PLAYERS: Stephen Stavrellis, Hamish Gee and Jason Tang GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Jack Clarkson through ball to Hamish Gee to score our only goal for the match 8B BGS def MGS 2-1 GOAL SCORERS Liam 1 Josh 1 BEST PLAYERS All round effort on Saturday multiple players were outstanding GAME HIGHLIGHTS Liams wonder strike from long range Strong defensive line all day Some key moments in the match around the ground that lead BGS to their 2nd victory of the season Only up from here 8C BGS def by MGS 2-1 GOAL SCORERS Hayden Cory BEST PLAYERS Jason Li, Hayden Cory GAME HIGHLIGHTS • Jason Li was a rock in defence, proving to be a trusted winner of the ball in our back half. • Hayden Cory scored an awesome dribbling goal and provided plenty of goal scoring opportunities for our attackers on the wing. • Oscar Zhu and Mitz Metaxas both made some great saves when goalkeeping. 7A BGS def Carey 2-1 Scorers: J. Anson, Hayes Best Players: Hayes, Khan, Redpath, Vulcan, Elliot Highlights: - Scoring immediately after Carey equalised to go up 2-1 in the dying minutes - Hard running by the wingers set up both goals - A pleasing performance with the team running the game out strongly 7B BGS def Wesley 7-0 GOAL SCORERS BEST PLAYERS Mozina 1, Vasilli 1, Jet 1, Marcus 1, Canulli 1, Larkin 1 Greenslade, Mittamyer GAME Running out of superlatives to describe these boys, another HIGHLIGHTS fantastic result – most impressive was the multiple goal scorers – highlighting the team effort and style of football we are playing. Missing top goal scorer Inuali to the A’s and Second Top Scorer Adam to injury, the way in which the entire team lifted to improve performance as a whole was impressive. The way in which the boys were able to process and adapt to a new challenge (a team with 10 men behind the ball) was pleasing as it again showed their ability to not only deal with challenging situations, but implement this on the fly through instruction – showing maturity well beyond their age. 7C BGS def by Carey 5-1 Goals: Lochhead Best Players: Dang, Lochhead, Ma Highlights: - Good adjustment to team talk at half time - Improved sense of position after half time - Consistent effort throughout HOCKEY 7/8A BGS def Carey 7-0 RESULT Win 7-0 GOAL SCORERS 3 - Oliver Bradfield, 2- Zac Adam-Gedge , 1 Brendan Reddell, 1 Lucas Pithie BEST PLAYERS Lucas Pithie, Brendan Reddell, Dylan Tomsic GAME HIGHLIGHTS A highlight for the game was how the boys executed their structure in the second half to pile on an additional 5 goals.
