Liaise with the Wynnum Bugs committee Develop relationships between families and coaches Delegate of tasks Ensure you have a coach, assistant coach and manager Facilitate jersey washing rosters, ground set up rosters, ground dismantling rosters and club clean-up and lockup rosters • Maintain player registrations with full details submit amendments to registrar • Set up team contact network • Check Fridays after 5pm for any changer or alterations to draw. Completion of team sheets • Please ensure you have obtained the opposition managers signature in addition to the referees • When totalling the score please remember that a try is worth 5 points. A conversion is 2 points and penalties are worth 3 points. • UNDER 12 and over, please ensure every player has signed the team sheet if they don’t sign it they are noted as not playing and this can become very important near finals time. • Match results are the responsibility of the manager. This must be submitted via the BJRU website no later the 5:30pm on their match day. Instruction on how to enter these results can be found on page D6 of the Team Managers Handbook. • Team sheets uploaded into RugbyLink • if a team has not entered this into the database fines or competition points are taken from them. Should any team be fined this is not a Wynnum’s responsibility and any fines must be paid by the team. No Marshall No Game. • The position requires someone who is prepared to exercise authority and control in a reasonable way before, during and after a rugby game. • No formal qualification is required to undertake the duties and responsibilities of Field Marshall. However, persons taking on this position must have a clear understanding of these duties and responsibilities, and a commitment to ensure they are implemented. Duties of the Field Marshall The Field Marshall is to ensure that: • All Parents/spectators remain outside the roped/fenced area at all times including half time. • Security is maintained for the playing enclosure free from unauthorised invasion. (authorised personnel are linesmen and trainers and wearing appropriate apparel). • Emergency access to field is available. • Touch judges and trainers are carrying out their duties correctly and are not unduly attempting to influence the game. Field Marshall • Only Trainers wearing a Trainer’s vest may access the field. • All water bottle carriers, chairs, prams etc are kept outside the roped/fenced area as they can cause harm should a player be tackled out. • ALL players, coaches, officials, parents/guardians, spectators and any other member or visitors complies with the code of conduct. • Teams do not warm-up in the “in-goal” area during other games, Field Marshall • • • • Team Managers co-locate (BJRU requirement), The Managers of each team is wearing the Team Official vest, The Touch Judge is wearing the Touch Judge vest, Unsportsmanlike conduct (e.g. abuse of Referee or players) is raised with the relevant Team Official and if the practice continues, then reported immediately to the appointed (‘home’) Club Official. • All breaches and incidents in which has exercised a duty or responsibility is to be reported to the Junior VP or his nominee immediately after the game when the breach or incident occurred. Field Marshall • A Field Marshall is responsible for an entire field. • There will be one Field Marshall per field. • The Field Marshall will identify him/herself by wearing an orange vest. Coach All coaches must have a SmartRugby qualification before they can coach any team in the Brisbane competition. COACHING ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS U6 – U7 Smart Rugby Coaching Kids Foundation Level 1 U8 – U9 U10 – U11 U12 U13 – U18 Coach - Qualifications • COACHING KIDS RUGBY CERTIFICATION This certification is ongoing and does not require renewal • FOUNDATION CERTIFICATION This certification is ongoing and does not require renewal • LEVEL 1 COACH ACCREDITATION • Have current SmartRugby qualification, and • Pass a Law and Safety Update Exam (90%), and • Demonstrate active coaching in at least 2 of the previous 4 years (letter to this effect required from relevant club/school/union), or if this cannot be demonstrated then successfully complete a Level 1 Coach competency assessment • LEVEL 2 COACH ACCREDITATION • Have current SmartRugby qualification, and • Pass a Law and Safety Update Exam (90%), and • Demonstrate active coaching in at least 3 of the previous 4 years (letter to this effect required from relevant club/school/union), or if this cannot be demonstrated then successfully complete a Level 2 Coach competency assessment. • LEVEL 3 COACH ACCREDITATION • By arrangement of the ARU only Coach - Qualifications • SmartRugby qualification lasts two (2) years. • To re-qualify you can complete SmartRugby online, • Coaching Kids Rugby U8-U12, Refereeing Kids Rugby U8-U12, or Foundation course also includes SR. • https://rugby.force.com/rugbyportal/ • all accreditation lasts for 4 years and all coaches must maintain their Smart Rugby qualification every 2 years • Know the rules for your age group: http://wynnumrugby.com.au/media/1519/pathway-game-modssummary-2015.pdf Field Set Up • Source goal post pads from Shed • Source ropes and wheelie bin of rope poles from shed Place rope poles in ground spaced 5 metres from side line and approximately 5 metres apart. Thread rope through poles and tie off to light post at both ends. • Source Orange and White cones from shed. Place cones in accordance with instruction on field set up Book. • Ensure playing pitch is free of rubbish and surrounds are free of cone spikes, chairs, prams, drink bottle holders and anything else that could cause injury should a player be tackled out. • http://wynnumrugby.com.au/media/1520/field-markings-u6-u9.pdf Field Break Down (last game) • Return cones on spikes to Shed. • Return goal post pads to Shed. • Carefully wind in ropes and return to shed along with wheelie bin of rope poles. • Ensure all rubbish is placed in bins.
