Ordinance for the Evening MBA Program
A. Admission: A student shall be selected for the admission on the basis of past academic records and
performance in admission tests.
1. Requirements: A bachelor degree or its equivalent in any field including engineering, agriculture or
medicine is the minimum educational requirement. The minimum qualifying points for being eligible to
apply is 6 (six), calculated on the following basis with no more than one third division/class in any public
examinations.

2. The Admission Process: The admission process of the MBA program shall be individually conducted
by the concern department of the faculty of Business Studies.
3. Registration
a. The selected candidates for the Evening MBA Program shall be admitted on the
recommendation of the academic committee of the respective departments.
b. The students shall be registered under the prevailing rules of Rajshahi University.
c.
The selected candidates shall be identified with the academic department.
d. The students of this program shall not be entitled to any facilities other than academic
facilities. They would not be attached to or resident in a Hall.
e. University disciplinary rules shall be applicable for the enrolled students.
B. Curriculum
1. The MBA program consists of 20 (twenty) courses of which there shall be 15 (fifteen)
prerequisite courses and 5 (five) specialized courses.
2. Full marks in each course unit shall be 100, distributed as follows:

C. Examination
1. Examination shall be conducted by the academic department.
2. Only the course teacher shall be the paper setter and examiner for each course.
3. Viva-voce shall be held after completion of the course work. An examination committee shall
conduct the viva-voce. The examination committee shall consist of (05) five members one of whom
shall be from outside Rajshahi University to be recommended by the concerned department and
approved by the Faculty and Academic Council.
4. There should be a 4-member Coordination Committee headed by the course coordinator to be
formed by the relevant academic committee. The result shall be finalized under the supervision
of coordination committee.
5. The final result shall be sent to the Controller of Examination for publication.
6. The result shall be published by the Controller's office.
7. Certificates shall be issued as per rules of Rajshahi University.
D. Administering Committee: There shall be an Administering Committee comprising of all the
chairman of the faculty of Business Studies headed by the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies to Coordinate the academic and financial matters of the departments.
E. Degree Requirements: The MBA program shall be of 66 (sixty six) credit hours of which 60 (sixty)
for course work, 3(three) for viva voce and 3(three) for internship report.
F. Selecting and Designing Courses: Departmental Academic Committee shall design the courses
and get them approved by the Faculty and the Academic Council.
G. Duration of the Program: Normal duration of the Program shall be two (2) academic years from
the first admission into the program. However, a student must complete the program in maximum of five
(5) academic years including the year of first admission into the program.
H. Academic year and Semester
English calendar year shall be the academic year for the program. There shall be two semesters in each
academic year as follows:
January to June-Batch 1
July to December-Batch 2
In each semester five courses shall be offered. But one must take at least two courses out of the offered
course in a particular semester.

In the Transcript/Grade sheet, only the letter Grade and the Corresponding Grade Points and finally the
CGPA, not the numerical marks, shall be shown.
J. Waiver: The students with masters or 4 year degrees from any University/Institute may qualify for
waiver of a maximum of 21 credit hours, while the students with 3(three) years Degree program or any
equivalent degrees may also qualify for waiver of a maximum of 12 credit hours provided students in
both the categories have obtained at least B grades/ 50 percent marks in traditional systems in similar
courses offered in the program.
K. Improvement: A student earning an F grade shall be required to improve the grade by appearing at
the next available semester final examination two times only. A student earning a grade of B  or worse in
any course shall be allowed to improve the grade by appearing at the relevant semester final
examination with the next available batch once only. However, a student cannot improve any grade after
graduation.
In the above situation, transcripts will show credit, grade and 'I' (Improvement) against the improved
course.
L. Withdrawal
1. Withdrawal from the program for a definite period of time may be considered with the
permission of the Co-ordination Committee/Departmental Academic Committee keeping the
earlier semester grades intact. A student withdrawing from the program must complete the
program within a period of 6 (six) academic years from the date of initial registration. Upon
reentry the student must complete the required courses of the program remaining in force. The
student can only be accommodated within the courses offered for the regular students,
otherwise application for re-entry may not be considered.
2. A student may withdraw from course(s) within two weeks of the commencement of classes.
M. Incomplete Grade: Due to unavoidable circumstances, a student may be assigned an 'Incomplete' grade
for his/her incomplete course work. The student shall have to complete the incomplete course in the next
semester. If the student fails to complete the course in the next semester, his/her earned grade shall remain intact.
N. Award of Degrees: The students shall be awarded the degrees by Rajshahi University on the
recommendation of the Departmental Academic Committee. The students completing the academic
requirements with the minimum CGPA of 2 will be eligible for a diploma.
N. For all other issues ordinance of the regular MBA Program shall be applicable.
