The unit cares for critically ill and premature babies in one of the largest and most specialist Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the country. Babies being treated on the Unit require constant 24 hour care, sometimes for weeks or even months. Each day can be a struggle and your support can help these families, during what can be one of the most stressful times of their lives. As an adult entering the race, if you can raise over £50.00 in sponsorship you will get your entry fee refunded. Likewise a child entering the race, raising over £25.00 will have their entry fee refunded. Please note that by signing your entry form, you are confirming that you have read the race rules and are entering the Chase at your own risk. This means that there will be no handicapping; everyone entering the race will set off at the same time. All times will be recorded and made available later on the night of the Chase. The main Chase will start at 7.00pm and all entrants must register in Grenoside Park from 6.00pm (near The Apple tree Nursery). Anyone entering the main Chase under the age of 16 must provide proof of their age when handing in their entry form. Teams can enter, there must be 5 runners per team; the first four to finish will count towards the winning team trophy. Teams can be made up of a combination of club and non-club runners. Please note no entries on the day. In relation to the prizes these will be split; with prizes for the best club runners and also non-club runners. (See below table for details of specific trophies) The Presentation for the main Chase will be held on the Village Green at 9.00pm. (At the main crossroads in the village across from Wasteneys butchers.) Trophy categories are awarded as follows: Chase Winner the runner who crosses the line first and is not a member of a running club. AAA Winner 2nd place 3rd place 1st Lady 1st Veteran 1st Junior Team prize the runner who crosses the line first and is a registered member of a running club. 2 prizes awarded to both non club runner and club runner. 2 prizes awarded to both non club runner and club runner. the first lady crossing the line - non club runner only. the first age 50+ runner to cross the line - non-club runner only. the first aged 14-16 to cross the finish line - non-club runner only. awarded to the first team to finish - this can be a mixture of both non-club runners and club runners. The team must be made up of 5 runners and the first 4 runners home are considered. Teams must be confirmed prior to event starting. The Children’s races will be held in Grenoside Park as usual, children are asked to register from 4.30pm outside the Apple tree nursery. Please note no entries on the day. The Presentation for the children’s races is held shortly after their last race, in Grenoside Park. Entry forms must be submitted with payment via the website www.greno-chase.co.uk before Sunday 02nd June 2016.
