Part 1: If elected, what position do you expect to take on the following environmental issues?
X
Comments: Money collected or at least a portion from fees such as fishing license should be used to benefit those resources. I would support this initiative if the fund
goes directly to park and land preservation of state and local parks, lakes, and waterways. Restocking and spawning of fish. Preservation of Long Island Sounds.
ETC.
2. Transportation and Would you support policies or legislation to promote transit-oriented development that
Mass Transit.
focuses growth and dense development around transit stations while respecting the

unique character of each of our 169 cities and towns?
X
Comments: I support the revitalization and updating of rail ways and the promotion of mass transit use. However I do not support large expenditures such as the
busway between New Britain and Hartford because of how it was funded and how expensive it was.

3. Riverfront
Protection
X
Comments: I do share a concern about run out and the impact development has on inland water ways, but I cannot commit to a blanket Yes or No. Depending on the
project and the nature of the project it may be necessary, but I do not generally support large developments in these areas.
4. Pesticides

Would you support a statewide program that allows Connecticut’s residents to have a
safe and secure place to dispose of unused pharmaceutical drugs?
Pharmaceutical
Disposal
X
Comments: I would absolutely support this program as long as it is a cost effective program for the state. I would like to see statistic as far as usage vs. cost to run the
program. Moreover I will say I am aware of the danger pharmaceutical drugs have if flushed down the sewer.
6. GMO Labeling
Would you support mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods, also known
as GMO?
X
Comments: I would rather see a label on what is considered “organic” I think the abuse and mislabeling of “organic” and what passes as organic is more obtrusive.
7. Mattress Recycling Would you support requiring manufactures to create a system for mattress-component
recycling similar to the systems for recycling electric waste and the unused paint?
X
Comments: Not at this time.
8. Water
Conservation
Would you support efficient use and planning of water supplies by providing
incentives for utilities to encourage water conservation through ratemaking
mechanisms?
x
Comments: I do support fresh water conservation especially for long term purposes for providing drinking water. I am unsure about the mechanism at this manner.
9. Toxics (children)

Would you support legislation that creates a process that identifies chemicals of high
concern to children and makes recommendations how to reduce their exposure?

Part 2:
What environmental issue has lacked the attention in Connecticut that it deserves? As a legislator,
what will you do to change that? What are the environmental priorities in your district?
I still believe energy independence is a major issue not just in our country but in our state. I believe that incentives can be offered to
companies and individuals for switching over to more energy efficient vehicles or alternative fuel sources. But the largest road block and
problem in this state is developing a method for fueling stations and other supporting infrastructure to offer alternative sources of fuel that
will still be profitable for businesses to do so.
Part 3:
If you are elected and you could choose only one environmental issue to address, which ONE of the
following issues would be your priority for the 2013 Legislative Session?
 DEEP Funding
X Transportation & Mass Transit
 Riverfront Protection
 Pesticides Rollback
 Pharmaceutical Disposal
 GMO labeling
 Mattress Recycling
 Water Conservation
 Toxics (children)
 CRCA
 Other (please describe)
Explain Why:
The state’s Transportation infrastructure is in a terrible shape. We need to begin to repair and rebuild all aspects from rail ways to highways.
