Coaching Structure and Position Descriptions AUVC State League 2017 Overview Purpose The purpose of the 2017 AUVC state league coaching team is to further develop the club and the sport of volleyball. This is to be achieved through: delivering a high level of performance in the state league competition; developing players to their full potential; developing coaches to ensure sustainability and continuity of the coaching team; and fostering an environment that promotes club values. Structure The Coaching Director will lead the coaching team. There will be a coach of each squad who will be specifically responsible for the players in their respective squads. Supporting these coaches will be an assistant coach for each team (where available). Initially, the only coaches will be league, league reserves and division 1. Division 2 coaches will be selected during preseason if required. Coaching Director League Coach & Assistant League Reserve Coach & Assistant Division 1 Coach & Assistant Division 2 Coach & Assistant Support The primary contacts of the coaching team will be: • AUVC Committee for any logistical, organisational or VSA issues. • AUVC Coaching Director for any coaching development or technical issues. • AUVC Communications Officer/Vice President for any media or communications issues. • AUVC First Aid Officer for any first aid treatment or equipment supply issues. These positions are supported by the rest of the AUVC club committee lead by the President and Vice President and Adelaide University Sport. Honorarium Honorariums for 2017 are as follows. These are subject to change at discretion of AUVC Committee. All Per Game amounts are based on a 16 Round Season. Any incentives (eg. The future of the club is highly dependent on the development of players. The Division 1 coach must be focused on fostering an environment which promotes development of skills, strategy and teamwork within the squad. State league development. To build on the point above, the Division 2 coach must be specifically focussed on development of the squad such that the AUVC has a squad sustainable to continue entering all divisions in SA State League for many years to come. Competition success. The Division 1 coach must have a focus on delivering a high standard of performance at games. Responsibilities Work with the reserves coach in the development of team values prior to the start of the 2017 season. Coach the division 2 squad at trainings as scheduled Coach the reserves squad at matches as scheduled. Ensure that all required players are in attendance at matches. Support player movement between squads in communication with the coaching team. Allocate players responsible for duties as rostered Ensure team lists are distributed in a timely manner at least 48hrs prior to the match. Write a concise match report for every match by the following Tuesday (including MVP award). Award selection and voting for VSA and AUVC awards as required at the end of the season in a timely manner. The future of the club is highly dependent on the development of players. The assistant coaches must be focused on fostering an environment which promotes development of skills, strategy and teamwork within the squad. Personal development. A key focus for all assistant coaches must be their personal development as a coach. This can be facilitated by participation in trainings and games as well as through courses. Key focus points for support are the head coach and the coaching director. Responsibilities Assist with training for their specific team as scheduled. Assistant coach at matches as scheduled.
