and writing down an elevator pitch. Doing an audit of my own FB page from
a view of the employer.

Networking Brief
PERSONAL NETWORKING OBJECTIVE
Personal
As my own objective, I like building a network to increase my references and the amount of
endorsements. So I can prove to future employers that I have the skills required and that it
looks legit and not made up. I can use my contacts for help and advice because they might
already have the experience and maybe they already met some pitfalls that I can try to
avoid.
Baseline for Resume/Profile
I'm a very tenacious someone and due to experience I've discovered that characteristic to be a
very two sided coin but, I can't help it. I'm passionate in what I do and try to get others to be
so as well. My interest for economics keeps things in my life exciting and it's definitely a
main reason of what keeps me going. Understanding how our way of life is realized and how
things work behind the mysterious curtain of Economics.

I’m Neil Van Damme and I’m currently a student at the college of Artevelde. I study
International Business Management to develop my international mindset and become more
aware and integrated with foreign cultures.

On the HomePage there is an option that leads directly to my LinkedIN page.
I’m very fond of LinkedIN, I have already had 2 offer for internships abroad. This actually
surprised me that people are really this actively searching on linkedIN for people.
AUDITING MY FB PAGE FROM EMPLOYER VIEW
I’m a social someone and I have my social moments with friends. I do know that I need to
hide some pictures. I don’t have any pictures on my facebook profile that are in any way
offensive or over the top but some pictures should be for friends only because they don’t
really promote a professional view.
NETWORKING ACTIVITIES
Together with people from IBM, we all participated in an innovathon which was actually
pretty fun and challenging. A full day of deliberating and discussing potential ideas. We had
a socializing event at the end to meet the different people from Sony and other companies.
Very interesting to learn and connect with them on different aspects.
