Mandatory
• Physicals- Must have to participate day 1
• Pay-2-Play- They have to be in by Friday, April
1st. Kid will not participate if not turned in.
• Friday, APRIL 1st!!!!!!!!! Not after.
1. The MHSAA has a new policy
requiring all coaches to take the rules
training. My suggestion is to take it
together.
2. All varsity head coaches must also
be CPR/First-Aid Certified by August
10th.
Additional Forms
• IChat- Volunteer coaches: All must be I-Chatted every
year
• Coaching Contracts-Sign after meeting
• Rosters- I need them in asap in order to do eligibility
checks, to make a list for E-Cards, keep an accurate
record, and make available to the public.
• OAA Passes
Purchasing
• Any orders made must be cleared with me
first. ***No exceptions***
• Coaches must provide oversight of purchasing
of sub-varsity coaches.
• Please see Donna Lantz for any account
inquires.
• Deposits into internals can be made through
me or Donna.
• Overdrawn accounts will lead to
termination of coaching contract.
Fundraising
• Please clear any scheduled fundraiser with
Athletic Director.
• No car washes on school property
• Follow proper protocol for depositing monies
Inventory
• PLEASE!!!! Do proper inventory of your
uniforms and equipment, turn into me yearly.
• Uniform and equipment inventory sheets are
available.
• All Uniform Purchases Must Be Under Armour
• 3 year uniform rotation

Eligibility
• Please do eligibility checks (forms can be
provided)

Maintaining Amateur Status
Awards
• Student will not accept any financial award
• Student may only accept award $25 dollars in
value or less
• A parent may not accept award on their behalf
Outside of School Athletic Competition
• *Same sport, same season, no outside
participation*. Exceptions (swim 2)
Attendance
• Must attend school in order to participate that
day.
*Exceptions only granted by Principal or AD
• Attendance at practice is essential, they miss
practice, than they play at your discretion.
*Exceptions: Approved school or parent
sponsored trips.
Transportation
• If they travel to away game on school owned
vehicle, they must return.
*Exception: Parent makes prior arrangement
with the coach.
• All Transportation needs will now go through
Athletic Secretary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uniforms and Equipment
• Keep inventory
• If they are lost or not returned, please let us
know asap.
• Students will be responsible for the cost
• Students will not be able to participate in
other sports until returned
• Please make a habit of the three year rotation--Pass them down!
Tobacco, Alcohol, Drug
• Report immediately, do not sit on it for a day
1st Offense
Restricted from athletic competition for 20% of
remaining season.
2nd Offense
Student-athlete will lose year of eligibility
3rd offense
Student-athlete will lose remaining eligibility for
their career
Inappropriate Behavior
Examples: Cursing, insubordination, fighting,
unsportsmanlike conduct.
*The coach and AD reserve the right to deny
athletic participation for inappropriate behavior
not found in the handbook.
Internal rules also follow under this rule.
*New Social Media Policy. Please inform me of
inappropriate social media activity.
Appeal Process
• Parent and/or guardian has three days upon
written notification to take action with
Principal.
• Review process: Coach, athletic director,
parents, and student-athlete may be present
• Final decision will be made by Principal unless
the Principal made the suspension. It will than
be handled by Superintendent.
24 Hour Rule
• Student-athletes or parent must uphold 24
hour rule with concerns.
Inappropriate Subjects for Parents to Discuss
Playing time, other players, game tactics,
position, etc.

How student-athlete can improve current skills,
behavior, treatment of student-athlete
Parent Concerns Suggestions
• Please refer to the 24 hour policy, as well as
appropriate and inappropriate subjects to discuss
with coaches.
• Please encourage parents to schedule a meeting
with the coach(es) and student-athlete first. If
they call AD without doing this first, they will be
directed back to the coach (unless there is an
emergency).
• Parents should schedule a meeting with the
athletic director if they feel the meeting with the
coach was not satisfactory.
