We design, build and construct grain storage and handling systems throughout Australia. [Image changes to show the construction process] We believe that we’re in the top one or two of Australia’s suppliers of on-farm grain storage in the larger flat bottoms silos. [Image changes to show John and Richard walking together to an office] John White: According to Richard we fitted the criteria quite well as we were a relatively young company who were expanding and looking to go ahead in the Entrepreneurs’ Programme. [Image changes to show Richard and John seated together at a table and talking] Richard Everson: We ask a lot of questions, we put a lot of options in front of business owners and their management teams, we help them look forward and that’s really valuable, to take that three to five year view, and then we help them identify strategies and priorities to sort of move the business forwards. [Image changes to show Richard seated and talking to the camera] And on a practical matter up to $20,000 in a Business Growth Grant; it’s just that really strong practical incentive to help implement some of those things. [Image has changed to show Richard and John seated together at a table and talking] John White: What I found, it makes you really think about what your company needs as far as some of those things that the programme was able to offer you, and when we decided what we needed to focus on that grant money came in really well to help us push forward to do that. [Music plays and image changes to show John seated at a desk and working at a computer] Richard Everson: John accessed three Business Growth Grants, so there’s been a few really key initiatives as well as sort of just a general refocusing and reinvigoration of the business. [Image changes to show John seated and talking to the camera] John White: With the Entrepreneurs’ Programme we definitely know that it has increased our revenue. [Image has changed back to show John seated at a desk and working on a computer] Our normal turnover over the last 12-months would be around about 14-million dollars. And where we started, back in 2004, was less than $200,000. [Image changes to show John seated and talking to the camera] So in ten years’ time, hopefully, we’re still gaining the benefit of what we’ve achieved over the last 18-months. [Image changes to show John and Richard walking through a workshop type setting] Richard Everson: It’s just been great to be able to encourage him and give him some direction, help him with the prioritising, find a few different ways to make things happen. [Image changes to show Richard seated and talking to the camera] And to come back and see what’s been done and to see how proud John is as what he’s achieved, it’s a fantastic job [Image changes to show a staff member welding a metal frame in the workshop] and really satisfying. [Image changes to show John seated and talking to the camera] John White: For the Entrepreneurs’ Programme we would definitely recommend it to other businesses, [Image changes to show John introducing Richard to staff in the workshop] Page 2 we feel as though there’s such a lot to offer and Richard, you know, in particular, really suited what we were trying to do. It was just like having your big brother come in and talk to you about your business [Image changes to show John seated and talking to the camera] and how you went about it and what you could do and what you could improve. [Image changes to show a staff member of the workshop grinding a piece of steel] [Image changes to show Richard seated and talking to the camera] Richard Everson: So if you’d like to find out more about the programme, if you head to business.gov.au and that will take you to some information about the programme, the eligibility criteria and an online application all our contact details are available on that website and we’d be really keen to hear from you.
