PICKLEBALL RULE SHEET – INTRAMURAL SINGLES & DOUBLES

1. Game will be best 2 out of 3 to 11, win by one.
2. Points are scored during serves only. (Check Doubles rotation)
3. If your score is 0,2,4,6, 8, 10 you should be serving from the right court.
4. If your score is 1,3,5,7,9, you should be serving from the left court.
5. IF A BALL HITS A LINE IT IS CONSIDERED TO BE IN.
6. The outside badminton lines are the boundary of the court. Ignore inside sidelines and baseline.
7. A served ball must enter the proper service court to be good, (a ball hitting the net and landing
in the proper court is a let.)
8. REMEMBER DOUBLE BOUNCE RULE: The receiver must let the serve bounce once and the
server must let the serve bounce once the first time the ball goes over the net. After that
volleying is allowed.
9. NO VOLLEY ZONE: A player may not stand between the service line and net to volley the
ball. Any follow through of a volley or smash that carries a player into the zone is also a fault.
10. On serve the ball may not be bounced and hit and the paddle must stay past below the waist line.
(No sidearm or overhand serves.)
ADDITIONAL DOUBLES RULES
11. Team that serves first only gets one server, after that both players serve before the ball goes over
to the other team
12. Partners switch right and left courts ONLY after scoring a point. If a fault occurs by serving
team NO Switch. Receiving team does not switch.
13. When the ball comes to your side always begin serving from the RIGHT court.
