Elementary Game Craft Field Trips
Field trip experiences take place on Thursday each week.
Schedule is tentative and subject to change.
June 29 Mox Boarding House (Bellevue). We're kicking
off Game Craft with a trip to Mox to check out their
huge selection of board games for design ideas and
inspiration. Players will get to participate in several
demos of games before breaking for lunch.
July 6 Bike Hike (leave from CRMS). This week
players are riding their bikes 3.0 miles along the Cedar
River trail to the nearby Maplewood Roadside Park. We
leave first thing in the morning and spend the day there
playing a wide range of outdoor games, and deploying
some of the physical games students designed during
the week. Make sure to bring the student's bike AND
helmet the day of.
July 13 ACME Bowling (Tukwila). Steeerike! The
ultimate test of dexterity and patience! Players are
going bowling this week, teaming up in small groups to
improve their game.
July 20 Chalet Theatre (Enumclaw). Players are
headed to the theater this week to watch a movie on
the big screen. We'll be having lunch at the Enumclaw
Park across the street.
August 3
Sno-King Ice Arena (Renton). Students
are going ice skating this week! Working on balance and
coordination to skate the rink. We're having lunch at the
rink, and spending an hour on the ice.
August 10
In-House (CRMS). Gaming experts will
visit our players to demonstrate their skills and show
their projects. Bring your questions for these expert
gamers!
August 17
Mox Boarding House (Bellevue). We're
headed back to Mox at the end of the summer! The
students have been working hard on their game designs
and prototypes all summer. Students who have
complete and polished games will be getting to demo
their games to the public at Mox.
August 25
Henry Moses Aquatic Center (Renton).
We're finishing the summer with a trip to the waterpark!
Our players have been hard at work honing their swim
skills in preparation for the swim show. It's time to take
a break and check out the slides and the wave pool.
July 27 8-Bit Arcade (Renton). We're going old school
this week as we visit the arcade! Players get to check
out the classics and play pinball on their vast collection
of machines, Tetris, Pacman and many more! Each
player will be provided with quarters.
Theme Week Field Trips
Off-site field trips for Theme Weeks will be determined near the start of each week and are
scheduled to take advantage of the best weather and traffic conditions for the field trip locations.
