The successful applicant must have, or be willing to undergo a security
clearance to the level of Baseline Vetting as a condition of employment.
To satisfy character requirements all AFSA employees must undergo a police
records check.

employment and their corresponding redundancy benefit period has not

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Lead and evolve AFSA’s testing capability, strategies and methodologies.
ENSURE QUALITY IN OUR SDLC AND PROJECT DELIVERY.KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES
(In order of importance/frequency)

Lead activities to review, recommend and implement enhancements to AFSA’s existing
test capabilities, including opportunities to increase test automation.

Manage the implementation and maintenance of standardised test artefacts in
accordance with industry best practice

Manage the implementation, maintenance and usage of AFSA’s test tools and tracking
systems in accordance with ICT Policy

Lead and plan the System Testing, Regression testing, User Acceptance Testing and
Production Verification Testing as part of AFSA’s Change and Release processes

Monitor and report on testing progress and make recommendations on sign-off of the
release.

Liaise with internal stakeholders on implementation of test plans

Manage recruitment and allocation of AFSA’s test resources, including APS and
contractor resources.

Manage procurement activities and contracts, including services contracts and contractor
engagements.

Manage and monitor a team, made up of permanent and contract staff, to ensure
effective performance/service delivery in accordance with established policies and
procedures, ensure quality and implement remedial action as required.

Lead and build a team by:

Lead initiatives as a senior member of the Applications Services team and ICT Services
Division within AFSA, including providing input to ICT strategies and operational plans
and senior management discussions as required.

Facilitate workshops and participate in project meetings or on project boards, as well as
prepare papers and presentations for key stakeholders and governance committees as
required.


TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE AND POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Highly Desirable

Demonstrated experience leading and managing small teams, particularly in a fast-paced
agile delivery environment

Experience using and implementing test automation tools and practices

Experience testing user interfaces and APIs
Desirable (but not expected/mandatory)

